Easy Sunrise Smoothie is a sponsored post partnership with FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer.
As the days get shorter we always add more healthy fruits and veggies to our diets.
Easy Sunrise Green Smoothie is one of our favorites. We love it because it tastes great, but also because it is really easy to make. You just add a few ingredients to a blender and you have breakfast in minutes. To make this even easier we prep all of our smoothies at the beginning of the week. This saves us time on busy mornings, but it also makes sure that we don’t waste any money on spoiled produce.
Here is how we do it…
My oldest created this Green Sunrise Smoothie recipe and it’s the best green smoothie I’ve ever had.
You will need:
- 1 medium banana
- 1 orange
- 1 apple
- 1/2 cup of spinach, fresh or frozen
- 1/2 cup of milk of your choice, we use coconut, soy or almond to make it vegan
This is how we do the prep each week.
We layer all the ingredients into a FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer bag. “The FoodSaver® FM2000-000 Vacuum Sealing System keeps food fresh up to 5x longer and saves up to $2700 per year based on buying in bulk, on sale and preventing waste.” And I love how easy it is to use! The sleek design on this model makes it perfect for keeping on the counter top.
And then we seal away!
We make one for each family member. The great part is that they can be customized for each of us too. I love a little extra spinach and The Little One likes extra oranges so we both get to have it the way we want.
FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer took us 10 seconds to set up… we just plug it in and this was the result after 30 seconds. No more fruit going bad in this household.
Each morning we take out our own bag, add it all to the blender along with the milk and blend away. This totally makes for much better mornings.
FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer is also great for other things, like keeping cheese and coffee beans fresh.
I can’t wait to use it to keep leftovers fresh for longer by sealing leftovers and then freezing them… instant freezer meals for later! I’ve also seen people use it to keep first aid kits safe from water and moisture when boating, and as an organization tool for small pieces. Just seal them up and they will all be there next time you need them. I plan to seal cups of chopped onions and then freeze them to save time when making meals. The possibilities are endless.
How you would use the FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer.
This is such a great idea and time saver! I always forget about bananas I have and then they go bad! I hate that!
I’m crazy about food vacuum. Love using mine!
The Green Sunrise Smoothie sounds good. I would love to have a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer. It can save so much money from food not spoiling. Thanks for sharing.
I definitely need this! I never came across a review on this until now, thank you for convincing me to get one 🙂
i love this idea of using a vacuum sealer. 🙂 i would do the same thing and pre package all my smoothies. we also like to pretty much pre marinate, pre portion, and freeze all our foods… just to make the day to day easier.
oh and thanks for hosting such wonderful giveaway! 🙂
I am into food vacuums too. They are so used.
I am into food vacuums too. They are so used.
I tend to buy too much food and there are days when I have to throw away food that has gone bad, because we haven’t had time to consume it yet. Foodsaver would be a great addition for our kitchen!
I definitely need something like this! Great review
The vacuum sealer can really make your food last longer. It would also be a good way to sort food.
What a great smoothie idea, love the vacuum sealer. I my Gram had an old style one when I was younger, and it was always more of this “fun” looking to me back then, amazing how this one works. I need it.
Now I’m buying it! Thank you for the wonderful review.
My dad does a lot of fishing. This would be great to make sure the fish he catches doesn’t go bad before we can eat it. Thank you for this contest!! Hope I win 🙂
Yumm! That sounds delicious! And what an awesome way to plan ahead!
Oh, I totally need one of these food savers! I feel like we waste so much food when there are people who could really use it!
I bring back from home a special bread my grandma makes. I would use the food saver to preserve it and enjoy my grandma’s bread longer!
What a great way to keep food fresh, saving you money.
Glad I came across this today! I actually am heading to the store today to get what I need for breakfast smoothies for myself. (I am 25 weeks pregnant). I think having a foodsaver would be so beneficial when I am prepping smoothies and other meals.
I drink at least 2 veggie-fruit smoothies every day! Ive nerved heard about the FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer but would love to give it a try a preserve my food. I live by myself and I have a lot of food that tends to go bad, so this would help me a lot!
My sister has one of those and is obsessed with it!
I would use it to save extra meat. We always buy too much in bulk and end up wasting it because it goes bad.
I love finding new smoothie recipes, thank you!
We just got a food saver a few months back. I have no idea how we went so long without one. Food always tastes better once it has been sealed in a food saver!
I have always wanted to have a vacuum sealer. I think it would save a lot of money from wasted food.
I’ve been meaning to get one of those! I really need to just buckle down and do it.
I have no idea what I would use a Foodsaver for first! I would probably start with what was currently in my refrigerator and then go to the store and get more things until everything was saved!
Honestly, I would use this with any and all food possible. It’s sometimes really hard using up all the food in my fridge when I’m just cooking for myself. I end up wasting a lot of food.
OMG That looks oh so good. I love that device!
You know, I think we have a FoodSaver somewhere in our cabinets. I really need to get it out and start using it more often!
I have never tried a vacuum sealer. This looks great. Thanks for the recipe too
Every family who enjoys cooking at home will have to have that in their kitchen! I hope there’s a second-hand one being sold at eBay so we can minimize the cost.
This looks awesome for an easy way to prepare smoothies for the morning time. My husband could do it himself. I’d love one of these!
I sure could use one of those vacuum sealers around here! 🙂
I’d use it to premake smoothie ingredients too. I think it sounds like a great item to have in the kitchen.
i would use the foodsaver to freeze daily servings of green smoothies and regular smoothies, along with weekly or maybe even monthly food meal plans!
I’ve never heard of a FoodSaver before. It sounds so practical.
Why have I never thought to do this before! Brilliant!
This is a super cool idea and such a time saver for us rushing around in the mornings. such brilliance this is.
What a great way to save money!! And be less wasteful. I can see where this product would be so handy to have.
I love the idea of using a vacuum sealer to “work ahead” for the week. Looks like it makes breakfasts super easy!
Green smoothies are delicious, but I haven’t had one for awhile! I need to get more usage out of my blender.
That’s a great idea!! love the individual servings!!!
I’ve always wanted a Food Saver! One of these years Santa is going to get wise 😉
I just told the hubs I wanted a vacuum sealer too! Now I have another excuse for why I need it & I can tell him that this particular one rocks! 😉
I probably wouldn’t use it as frequently as you do- we’re attempting to cut down on plastic waste in our house, which is making for a lot more prep time and post dinner clean up but ah well -_-
You know what it would be great for? Marinating meats. That’s how I would use mine- although I can’t enter your giveaway, as I’m a Canadian *womp womp* lol
What a great idea! It does help so much to have everything organized in the morning!
I have gasteroparieses and every day I make green smoothies and I add protine powder to my drinks. I have to eat a certian type of diet and I’m always making smoothies. I use a ton of cling wrap with three step kids and a 7 year old child and a hubby that takes his lunches to work this would come in handy for so many reasons.
We have a Foodsaver and love it. I don’t know what we would do without it!
I love FoodSaver! I just used mine today to keep my bacon fresh! Great post
