Easy Sunrise Smoothie is a sponsored post partnership with FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer.
As the days get shorter we always add more healthy fruits and veggies to our diets.
Easy Sunrise Green Smoothie is one of our favorites. We love it because it tastes great, but also because it is really easy to make. You just add a few ingredients to a blender and you have breakfast in minutes. To make this even easier we prep all of our smoothies at the beginning of the week. This saves us time on busy mornings, but it also makes sure that we don’t waste any money on spoiled produce.
Here is how we do it…
My oldest created this Green Sunrise Smoothie recipe and it’s the best green smoothie I’ve ever had.
You will need:
- 1 medium banana
- 1 orange
- 1 apple
- 1/2 cup of spinach, fresh or frozen
- 1/2 cup of milk of your choice, we use coconut, soy or almond to make it vegan
This is how we do the prep each week.
We layer all the ingredients into a FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer bag. “The FoodSaver® FM2000-000 Vacuum Sealing System keeps food fresh up to 5x longer and saves up to $2700 per year based on buying in bulk, on sale and preventing waste.” And I love how easy it is to use! The sleek design on this model makes it perfect for keeping on the counter top.
And then we seal away!
We make one for each family member. The great part is that they can be customized for each of us too. I love a little extra spinach and The Little One likes extra oranges so we both get to have it the way we want.
FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer took us 10 seconds to set up… we just plug it in and this was the result after 30 seconds. No more fruit going bad in this household.
Each morning we take out our own bag, add it all to the blender along with the milk and blend away. This totally makes for much better mornings.
FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer is also great for other things, like keeping cheese and coffee beans fresh.
I can’t wait to use it to keep leftovers fresh for longer by sealing leftovers and then freezing them… instant freezer meals for later! I’ve also seen people use it to keep first aid kits safe from water and moisture when boating, and as an organization tool for small pieces. Just seal them up and they will all be there next time you need them. I plan to seal cups of chopped onions and then freeze them to save time when making meals. The possibilities are endless.
How you would use the FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer.
I really need to get one of these food vacuums.
Great way to store food, without a doubt. And thank you for your smoothie recipe. I love smoothies but I haven’t tried one with vegetables.
What a great way to save money and portion out custom smoothies! Smart thinking!
I love anything that lends itself to a quick morning!
My goodness! I finally found a review about vacuum sealers! My husband has been eyeing on buying one for his parents. He said they always use it at home and his dad would be so glad to have it. I guess I’ll consider your review. 🙂
That vacuum food sealer is amazing. I want one for our kitchen. I have been wanting one and now I know other vacuum food sealer that actually works. And that smoothies look really good and healthy. I would have that for breakfast. Thanks for sharing!
I have always wanted a food saver. I would use it for meats, and when I make big soups or pulled pork I usually have to put it into a container into the freezer to save for a later date. The food saver would make that a lot easier to save room & time.
I love green smoothies and I never even thought about saving them individually to be used for later. This is a great product. we waste to much fruits and vegetables because they do not stay fresh for long.
That smoothie looks really good. I want to get a food saver one day too!
Yum! That’s a smart way to start the day.
I’ve always wanted to attempt make-ahead smoothies but am always worried about freezing large amounts. Now our poor blender is broken so it will have to wait until I get a new one. 🙁
I agree with Debbie, anything that makes the morning fast and adds to the pace is my love. I work in morning shift of a kids creche and works like a machine in the morning. I will buy a vacuum sealer as soon I get a reduction in my nearest mall.
