We actually had an afternoon of rain complete with thunder and lightening. A rarity for us in San Diego, so the girls and I had an impromptu music party and I’m sharing all about it via this sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pringles® Summer Jam.
When the skies started to go grey we started to think outside play wasn’t going to be an option anymore.
Living in Southern California we almost never have to think of inside only play so this was actually kinda exciting for us! I instantly thought of food and music! That’s just where my mind goes in situations like that. My oldest and youngest LOVE music. Maddie and Pete go to concerts often and Maddie even plays the guitar. The little one loves to dance to music and her tablet is loaded with her favorite songs. I’m proud to say that even some of my favorite 80’s music made the cut, and she likes it too.
Then I remembered that we had Pringles® and drum sticks and I knew how we were going to rock this inside time!
It was an epic few hours of family fun and a lot of laughs. We had moments of straight drum playing and also some times where we played music with it while we played along on our make shift drums. And Pringles® is totally cool with that! They know that people are already using their cans as instruments, so they’re getting in on the fun by challenging music sensation M4Sonic and a group of musicians of varying styles and backgrounds – called the Percussion Prodigies – to incorporate the brand’s iconic can into their musical expression. Pretty cool right?
I know that our level of drum playing isn’t even close to touching the professionals, but for us it’s really fun… and encourages family togetherness while providing some healthy movement, instead of just sitting on a day we couldn’t run around outside or go swimming.
Good memories were made.
Music fans are going to love this!
And then when we got hungry we just popped open a can!
We even had a special visitor stop by to play… my sweet littlest niece! She had so much fun!
Do you have jam sessions at home too?
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pringles® Summer Jam.
We love Pringles. Everyone likes them and they are a great summer snack.
So fun! We love pringles at our house and always have some on hand. This would be fun to do with the kids, they love making noise!
Oh yes, anything the kids can bang on and use as a drum is a jam session! I love the sour cream and chives pringles! They are are my fave!!
What a great idea, it’s not always easy keeping them busy indoors! BTW, we love Pringles at our house!
Haha this reminded me of doing this when I was little! I forgot how much fun it is to bang on the tops of Pringles cans and also coffee cans. Rainy days can be fun indoors too!
I’m all about some barbecue flavored Pringles. We go through a lot of these snacks at my house, so we should be a regular Blue Man Group in no time.
Oh goodness, My kids love to have jam sessions! I for one… try to avoid them. My head is not meant for jamming!
My kids love music and I am pretty sure they got it from their mama.
How much fun! We have tons of Pringles cans in our pantry but I had never thought of using them as instruments! I know my boys will be crazy over this idea!
I love Pringles and how great are the pots for making instruments out of!
My son has a full band in the basement lol. He plays guitar. We’ve got drums and an organ down there too. So it’s loud 🙂
Super cute drumsticks! Your little ones are Pringles Rockstars, LOL 🙂
We don’t have kids, but we go through a ton of Pringles. My husband is also a man-child, so I foresee some drumming in my future.
My grandsons turn everything into drums. Their dad is a drummer, so they all want to be like him. Pringle cans are perfect for a jam session and a great snack, too.
How fun! What a great way to stay entertained. And to have a tasty snack afterwards!
My kids love making drums out of everything! They’d love to use Pringles cans too!
We are big fans of jam sessions! My toddler loves to rock out with her Daddy on the weekends!
Of course we do. Anything that makes noise becomes a musical instrument in my house. LOL
My kids love Pringles. If I ask them what do you want for lunch the answer would be peanut butter and jelly and chips!
We just endured an entire week of thunderstorms and bad rains. We are a Pringles family for sure. My daughter and husband argued last night over the last chip in the container.
Ha, ha, ha… Is it crazy that I remember playing drums on Pringles as a kid? Ha! We love making music at home, so this is great. Thanks for sharing…
My kids use to do the same thing with Pringles on a rainy day. Their dad played the drums and they wanted to be just like him.
I could definitely see my boys enjoying this! We love finding ways to spice up the days!
Pringles are yummy and now you can use them as drums? perfect. My youngest would be all over using drum sicks on pringle cans!
Oh, Pringles sure take me back to my childhood! My dad was always very particular about how we ate them. Did you know there is a right side up and up side down to a Pringle? 🙂
I don’t know about jam sessions, but I do love to sit around and relax to some soft music on a rainy day. I don’t know that there is anything much better to do on a rainy or hot day.
We LOVE Pringles! Not only are they a tasty snack, but we have found many uses for the containers once we are finished.
Awwww how cute! I love this idea! Definitely will come in handy this season!
Making instruments out of everyday items is a fun and creative activity to do with kids!
That’s so creative to use the Pringles cans for a jam session! I can totally see my boys doing this too!
That’s the perfect use for an empty Pringles fan, and they’re always empty around here. I LOVE Pringles!
Jam sessions are needed often at our house. It’s so nice to see that we aren’t the only wild ones! LOL
We are a very musical family. When the kids can not go outside they are always finding ways to make cool things. I will have to show them this trick.
My kids like to get out the Tupperware and pots to make drums. It is always hard to find things to do on rainy days.
This is such a fun idea!! Snack and entertainment all in one container, we love Pringles this would be great activity for our family.
Great idea, pringles are the best. Your family sure looks like they had fun.
I have caught my kids making drums out of Pringle cans so many times!! This is a great rainy day activity!
I love Pringles. I also need things for my kids to do during summer.
We love Pringles and always have some in the house. My kids have used the cans as drums in the past, they pretended to be a band, lol.
We stay indoors to beat the summer heat and have jam sessions all the time. We do love our pringles as well.
Now this is super cool! Pringles have always been my fav chip! I loveee them! LOL
That sounds so fun! We love Pringles and my kids always ask me to buy whenever I shop for groceries.
A jam session using Pringles cans sounds like a lot of fun. My girls would love this.
The way my daughters play drums I can 100% guarantee those chips would have been crumbs! They would have still eaten them though!
It looks like they are having a blast. My kids are already asking for a drum set, but this jam session might tide them over!
We had music jam parties here too but never thought of using Pringle cans! What a fun and great idea!
What a lot of fun having the jam session with Pringles and drum sticks. Jam sessions have always been a part of my life and the kids are used to me playing drums with my fingers on the table. You listed some awesome ways to have indoor fun during the storm.
How cool, drums out of a Pringles can. This will be an awesome activity to do with my 5 year old.
This is such a fun idea. We love Pringles. I’m sure my girls will enjoy a music jam party.
What a fun and silly way to use Pringles cans! My aunt always made us save ours so she would have a sturdy container to ship her holidays cookies in.
