Last week we took a bucket-list vacation to The Grand At Moon Palace Cancun!
We had been to Moon Palace Cancun before, but The Grand was still under construction and we hadn’t vacationed with friends there! When I started planning this vacation, I had one thing on my mind… where would be a good place to take a vacation with friends who lived across the country from us? It was an easy decision to choose the Cancun area because it was central for both of us in California and Florida. We also loved that there were nonstop flights!
Soon our dream vacation was here!
We caught an early morning flight from LAX to Cancun and when we saw that blue water from the plane, we knew this was going to be one amazing family vacation to Cancun.
Our travel partner who hosted our stay, The Grand At Moon Palace Cancun arranged a private driver for us who was waiting at the airport just as we exited.
A couple of tips here:
- The Grand is just about 10 minutes from the airport. Shared transfers would totally work since it is such a quick drive, however, we always opt for a private transfer so that there are no extra stops along the way and our vacation starts faster.
- There are taxis available, but we always book a driver ahead of time. Then we know who is driving us and we can give this info to our emergency contact back home.
I know that there isn’t a lot of information or an in-depth review of The Grand At Moon Palace Cancun so I’m going to include a lot of information and tips for you.
The Grand At Moon Palace Cancun is the newest resort inside the Moon Palace Cancun and it is spectacular!
When you arrive at The Grand At Moon Palace Cancun you are greeted by tropical scented cold towels, a red carnation, and a welcome drink. These are all of our favorite things about our first resort moments.
After the quick check-in process, we were in our Grand Family Deluxe Suite.

This is an adjoining king room and two queen room setup.
We love having our space from the kids, but still being connected. Here is a quick look at the rooms. I’ll have a full room tour soon! The rooms were almost exactly the same except ours had the king bed and theirs had the two queen beds.

After we were settled into our suite, we set out to explore the resort.
The Boulangerie Coffee Shop was our first stop. Each resort at The Grand At Moon Palace Cancun has a coffee shop, but this is definitely our favorite one. The food and drinks are very similar in each one, but this one is over the top beautiful.
Maddie and I always get the soya (soy milk) lattes, but Emmy is all about the gelato and popsicles. They also serve other specialty coffees along with crepes, cookies, sandwiches, bonbons, macarons and so much more.
Soon it was time to meet up with our friends!
You might recognize them from our Montana vacation where we met… it’s Emma and Ellie’s Family! Mark, Heather (yep, same name), Emma and Ellie!
We had some fun catching up over dinner at The Grand Buffet Restaurant!
Everyone left Maddie alone at the table as soon as we saw the food and desserts 🙂
This picture above was taken in the powder room at The Grand later that evening.
No review of this resort is complete without seeing this restroom. It was gorgeous and the first time I’ve ever featured a bathroom! Ha!
We also all stopped back in Wired for more fun.
Wired has unlimited arcade games, snacks, and more. You know when you go to an arcade and the kids (and adults) have to stop and get more and more quarters… and maybe some of the games are older and not completely up to date? That doesn’t happen here. There are no coins needed and everything is new! I think for some families, this arcade would be reason enough to stay here. Not even joking. For us, it was the icing on the cake. There was even another whole play area that we discovered the next day!
We also set off for a quick look at the other two on-site resorts, Sunrise and Nizuc.
The lobby at The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun has coaches and golf carts that take you wherever you want to go!
This is how our day ended. The nights are so relaxing here.
We already want to go back! I can’t wait to share with you all the fun we had over the next few days! I’ll be back with that soon!
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Let’s continue the conversation on Instagram:
