Thank you to Mezzetta for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me to get creative and create a unique recipe for the Holidays.
We have less than 2 weeks before it’s holiday time!
This month is flying by and I’m quickly realizing I need to push myself into high gear if I’m going to get everything done before the big day. If I’m being totally honest I know that I’m going to have to take a few short cuts along the way too… like when it comes to food and shopping. Online shopping is going to help get all my shopping done and having a go-to dip for all our holiday parties is going to keep everyone fed and happy! Thankfully I have an awesome dip that has a bit of a tang to it that travels well and that everyone loves!
When I started thinking about this recipe I did so in the grocery store aisle and I came back with these jars of Mezzetta beautiful olives and a game plan…
Mezzetta has been family owned since 1935 and the fourth generation of Mezzetta family is continuing the commitment to bring their customers the highest quality foods available. They source the finest, fresh produce from the sun-drenched soils of California, Italy, Spain, France, and Greece and prepare them according to their Italian family recipes in the Napa Valley. When cooking with Mezzetta products, “Inspiration is just a twist away”!
All of the Mezzetta olives looked lovely, but I decided to use the Spanish Queen Olives in my dip!
Creamy Green Olive Dip
Ingredients:
- 1/2 jar Mezzetta Spanish Queen Olives, drained and chopped
- 2 tbs. of the olive juice
- 2 blocks of cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons of crumbled bacon {I used soy bacon, but the real stuff is great too}
- 1 cup of Italian shredded cheese mix
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours so the flavors can combine.
- Heat in the microwave for 5 minutes or less… stirring every 30 seconds. You want it to be heated all the way through… but not to dry out.
This can be served cold too… I just like it warmed up a little bit more than cold.
