Thank you McDonald’s for inviting us to see the new Build Your Burger at your San Diego location and for sponsoring this post.

This week Pete and I took a little trip down to San Diego Midway area to see McDonald’s Build Your Burger for ourselves.
We had heard all about it online and the pictures looked amazing. I thought it was a really cool concept and I wanted to see if it lived up to everything I heard about it.
If this is your first time learning about McDonald’s Build Your Burger here is what it’s all about.
Build Your Burger is putting the burger of their dreams right at customers’ fingertips through an interactive kiosk in restaurant lobbies. Build Your Burger offers a variety of toppings, sauces and buns, including new items such as guacamole and tortilla strips. The custom burger creations are grilled fresh to order and delivered to the customer’s table for a unique dining experience. Build Your Burger is available at a handful of select Southern California locations for in-store customers.

We were welcomed to the restaurant by a table of fresh produce that they use on their Build A Burgers.
Te tomatoes are sliced fresh daily and the burgers have large leaf lettuce. There are two buns to choose from and they are not your typical fast food buns. They are both so good!

Then it was time to Build (Y)our Burger.
We were escorted to the touch screen kiosks and picked all of our toppings and bun. I got everything that was offered on mine including guacamole, 2 different cheeses, grilled and raw onions and more. Pete’s was a little simpler but it still had lot’s of yummy toppings. You can even get bacon and an extra patty if you like.

See how easy this was:

The tomato was so fresh and the mushrooms were my favorite!

Wow, cool. I wonder if they’ll be coming up to the Seattle area. The burgers look really great.
I don’t think they are doing this anywhere near me in NY yet-when they do I will certainly check it out. I have used those ordering machines before-forgot the name of the place-but it sure makes it easy to order the way you want to!
Oooh! I sure hope we get a McDonald’s like that where we live!! That burger looks delicious!
Well, now that is pretty neat! My family would love it! Maybe one will be coming to a Micky D’s near us soon.
I wish they had this at our McDonalds. I would love some grilled onions and bacon on my burger.
My son would love this. He has McDonald’s at least once or twice a week. I would have cheese, bacon, pickles, BBQ sauce, tomatoes, mayo and lettuce.
Oh what fun… I have to say though, I am a bit old fashioned and just like bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo… ha! But who knows, maybe I could come up with something better
I never even knew McDonalds did this! How cool. I like my burgers pretty plain, though.
I am drooling all over my laptop – these burgers sounds amazing. What great choices to add to the.
I would actually go to MDonalds if this were available here. Those burgers look really delicious.
Wow, this look amazing! It may be two years before this option makes its way to North Carolina.

Wow what a huge change for McDonalds. This looks delicious!
Yummy, I think Mcds is trying to compete with the dine in restaurants. I think it’s a good idea too.
I like having the option to build a burger the way I want it.
I´ve never heard of tis build your burger option before. It sounds cool! I hope it will be available here in UK too some day.
I hope they bring one of these to our area. I think this would totally go over and it looks delicious!
This is really cool. Kinda like what Subway has started to do.
I love this build your own burger. I would have Swiss cheese sauteed mushrooms with onion, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and raw onion. All of this would be on grilled sour dough bread. Thanks for sharing.
Your burgers look great and really quality. I love this concept and did I see that you can get a toasted bun? Love, love, love that.
This is interesting, I didn’t know that McDonalds offered a service like this! Although, I went to a McDonalds here in France the other day, and it was the nicest McDonalds I’ve ever been to in my entire life… they’re really stepping up their game!
Cheers!

My burgers are kind of boring. I like some cheese, mayo, bacon, lettuce, and red onions.
I eat a much simpler burger, when I do… But definitely this one looks delicious, Heather!
I hope that this service is eventually available to all McDonald’s. I know I’d visit a lot more if it was!
I don’t usually eat at McDonald’s, but I may give this a try.
Well that’s just cool! I’m going to say bbq sauce, onions, and pickles for my entry! Thanks for hosting the giveaway. 🙂
That is pretty cool and interesting. Looks like a fun time.
My perfect topping would be cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mushrooms, peppers, crispy bacon, mustard and bbq sauce.
That is so cool. I wish a McDonalds around me would do this. Like I needed another reason to want to move to San Diego 😛
I would have cheese, mustard and pickles. This is a cool concept. I might have to try McDonald’s again, if this shows up in my neighborhood.
I would love to give that a try. That looks more like a restaurant and upscale!
My perfect burger is with mushrooms and swiss cheese.
We doesn’t have that kind here in our country :((( So jelly
Oh yum! I love to build my own burger. You’re making me want one right now for dinner.
This is such a cool idea and your burger looks awesome! I’ve always liked being able to customize my burger toppings.
I’m so with you on the mushrooms and onions. Right after Pizza, burgers and fries is my favourite fast food meal.
I’d love to know if that will eventually be coming to our area. Our McD burgers don’t look anything like that. 🙂
How cool! I wish this was here in Canada! I would love to check this out! This would be really fun to do!
