We have a running joke around here when it comes to cleaning.

My skin is so sensitive that I tend to break out in blisters on my hands if I come into contact with cleaning products. This is a huge benefit to me when I don’t want to clean… but not so good for everyday life, especially with 3 kids and a household to take care of. I do love being able to say “I can’t clean, I’m allergic to it”!

It came as no surprise that I would have children with sensitivities too.

My middle daughter and youngest both have asthma, eczema and very sensitive skin. It’s a constant battle between keeping our house free of allergy triggers {chemicals} and keeping it clean so that they don’t get sick, another trigger.

When I heard about Zabada Clean I was really intrigued.

A product that used no chemicals, but still left our house clean? I wanted to know more. I couldn’t really understand how it worked until I actually had it in my hands. Pretty much the fibers collect and trap all the bad stuff and then they are released when you rinse it off again with just water. After a few uses you can wash them in the washing machine and hang them up to dry. They are then ready to use again and again!

The same principle applies to all the Zabada products I tried… there is a side for delicate surfaces and one for regular. This makes it easy to get your cleaning done quickly because you only need one product to do both delicate and regular surfaces. To clean you just get it wet first and then you follow it up with the dry cloth. The Dust Glove and Dust Floor Fibers are the only fibers that do not need to be wet and there is a fiber for each floor type too so you can really personalize the cleaning experience to your own home and needs. Zabada also does not require the use of paper towels, which eliminates any waste.

I put Zabada to the test.

I started with my kitchen counter where we had just made dinner and there was dried spaghetti sauce on my marble counters. I would normally have to really scrub after I let the chemical cleaners sit for a minute to loosen it up. This time all I had to do was wipe over it with normal pressure and it came right up. No chemicals needed at all and no hard scrubbing needed either.

The bathroom mirror sparkled.

This didn’t seem like it was going to work to me. I’m used to having to use something to make my mirrors streak free and clean. Water has never worked before and I’ve tried “magic” cloths before with less than great results… but this worked. Like totally spot free and “company” ready.

  • Wow, thanks for sharing since I’m getting more into the natural stuff due to my own concerns this is a big help. Whats more important than what you clean your house with an I’ve learned that this is what causes most of the allergens. Thanks for sharing

      You are right in saying that cleaning chemicals causes a lot of allergens! It is not educated enough on how bad they are for your health, the environment and for your home. Try to read the small print on the back of the bottles (with a magnifying glass) – it is crazy that we can all access these kind of chemicals for use in our homes!

  • In theory, being allergic to cleaning sounds awesome. But in reality? I’m sorry. 🙁 Thank goodness you have alternatives like this you can use! We’ll all benefit from having a few less chemicals in the house.
