Emmy has had this dream in her heart for a long time… to have a swing set right outside her front door.
Pete and I would always tell her that maybe someday we would get one… but then life would get in the way and before we knew it she was 5 years old and we realized we’d been saying that for years. She was a good sport about it and would casually mention it here and there.
And then one day last week this happened:
Words can’t begin to explain the joy she is feeling! She hollered as she ran towards her new Oceanview Wooden Swing Set saying “this is the best day of my life”! I totally get her happiness. Swing sets really are that awesome. From the moment she wakes up (between 4 and 5 am!) the first thing she asks us now is “when will the sun be up so I can go play on Swingy”? Yes, she even named her swing set!
“Swingy” has been the talk of the town. My parents were cordially invited over to meet “her” and Emmy has already hosted a midday tea/picnic with Ashley in the clubhouse! She has been playing on it before school, after school, and before bed each day. I’ve been bringing my laptop outside while she plays and I think we are both benefiting from the fresh air and fun!
I love having our new Oceanview Wooden Swing Set because it is fun and healthy play. Last night I had to remind Maddie that it was dark and it was time to come inside. She was enjoying it… swinging back and forth while reading a book for school. Swing sets are also a great way to get the kids off the video games, plus they encourage much more imaginative play.
One of the biggest issues that kept us from getting a swing set before was the aesthetics of it in our yard. I didn’t want a metal one because it would stand out awkwardly. Wooden swing sets are much more fun and look better than metal swing sets. We all think that this swing set is beautiful. My dad couldn’t believe how amazing it looked and the details that went into constructing it.

I love wooden swing sets. Growing up, my sister and I gad a metal one. We would play on it every chance we got. My 4 yr old has been asking for a swing set ssh o I guess it’s time.

We usually had a swing set growing up. I loved to swing. My daughter loves to swing now too. Even as an adult, I still enjoy swinging.

The swings! We had to remove an unsafe play structure with swings from our yard and have been unable to replace it. What my kids miss most is swinging together. They had some of their best “kid conversations” on the swings!

Everyday my little boy asks if we can get a “park” in our backyard and I am dying to give him one! Now that he is almost 5 and his sister is almost 3 it would be perfect! Especially with a baby on the way I need a safe place for them to play! Fingers crossed!!!!

Swings are always a cool kid venture! The top level “private club house” gives kids their own get-a-way for themselves and their friends to hatch dreams and future childhood memories. I wish this came in an adult size! I love to swing and I would be MIA from the house and would be found in my hammock!

Our backyard is pretty boring for the kids, so they’d be delighted with such a fun climbing structure. I could see that hammock being a favorite feature.
