Every single day of my life is National Adoption Day, but it’s still nice to have this day to recognize the special way my family was formed.
As I type this, Emmy is reading a book sitting next to me, the big girls and Pete are off getting her a surprise… just because. It’s a Saturday thing that we do. Emmy and I have Mommy and Emmy mornings and Pete spends some time with Maddie and Ashley. That’s what we do when we are in town at least, last Saturday though we were in Pennsylvania and this is how we spent the day… all together at a park enjoying each others company and a snack.
It’s moments like today, and at the park that it really hits me how lucky I am to have this family… through both birth, and adoption. Honey Maid gets this and has long recognized and celebrated that while the makeup and day-to-day lives of families have evolved, the idea and importance of wholesome family connections remains the same.
It is no secret that the American family has changed.
Did you know that one in 12 married couples in the U.S. are interracial, that nearly 40% of children don’t live with both of their biological parents and that only 62% of children live with their two biological parents. There are 125,000-plus same-sex couples currently raising children in the U.S. and more than 1.5 million American families have been touched by adoption.
Even with all this change, one thing has stayed the same. Love is what makes a family.
Like the American family, Honey Maid has continued to evolve across its 90 year heritage. From classic grahams to Teddy Grahams, Honey Maid’s wholesome products are made with whole grains and real honey, without high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors, and are wholesome snacks families can agree on for any occasion.
While we were at the park we had some Honey Maid Grahamfuls.
They are so delicious and fun to eat. It’s like a ready made s’more to go! Squished between two graham crackers is a perfect layer of marshmallow and chocolate!
I, of course took lot’s of pictures that day!
This one was my favorite!
Honey Maid is Wholesome Snacking.
The classic graham cracker makes s’mores fun for the whole family, or simply serves as inspiration to create every day wholesome snacks like the Very Berry “Cheesecakes.”
Have you been touched by adoption?

Honey Maid sounds delicious, I wish they sold them here in the UK 🙂 x
what a blessing that this is for all those kids who get adopted! 😀
I can remember using Honey Maid to make some of the best graham cracker pie crusts I have ever had.
I love using Honey Maid Gram Crackers to make Smores. It is so great that so many kids have found homes through adoption.
The grahamfuls are my kids favorite! Adoption is such a wonderful and loving thing to do!
My aunt and uncle adopted my cousin as an infant. I don’t know what my life would have been like if I had grown up without her!
My husband adopted my oldest and it’s made our family complete. I think adoption can be so positive in so many ways.
Adoption is such a special thing. One of our daughters close friends is adopted and its amazing because she looks so much like her adopted mom… you would never know.
I have a friend who was adopted and I’m so happy for her she found a true family. I love your idea of honey maid, it looks really perfect for adoption day.
Every day is adoption day for us as well, for the last 12 1/2 wonderful years. We could not have had a family any other way, and our son is perfect, after all God picked for all of us!

A happy belated National Adoption Day to you and your family, though you are all very lucky to be able to celebrate everyday. It’s amazing and so heartwarming to me how the American family has evolved through the years, and how so many more people are open to experiencing raising their own families because of that. And those Honey Maid snacks look like such a yummy snack for a day spent at the park!
It’s so nice to heard the National Adoption Day, I think it’s not important if it’s you’re adopted but you have a true and real family.
How lovely. Every kid deserves a family that would guide and support them. Family are not just by blood, it’s about the people you’re with and I think it’s nice that we have a day to celebrate Adoption.
Honey maid is really perfect for National Adoption Day! It’s reminds me my childhood memories.

When my aunt adopted my cousin, she was already 15. My aunt was single at that time, but she treated her like her own.
What a great partnership and a beautiful, touching story! So beautiful – especially during the start of this holiday season : ) wonderful post, thank you for sharing!
