2015 is shaping up to be the year of travel and home improvement, which is exactly how we hoped it would be. These both go hand in hand because when we are traveling we want to know that our home is fairing just as well as our travels. When we are off on an adventure we have family stay at our home to watch our dog and cats, but I still like the added benefit of having video monitors so that we can check in too!

We use video monitors for more than home security though.
We also use them to make life easier. My favorite way is to have one in the cat’s bathroom… yes, my cats have their own bathroom. We have an automatic cat litter box, that occasionally gets clogged (don’t think about that one too much, yuck) and their food and water in that room too. We have one of the Arlo monitors in the cat bathroom and we can then check in and make sure they have enough food and water and that the litter box is working properly.
Sleek Design
Looks matter right? Especially if they are going to be out for all to see in your home. The design of the Arlo seamlessly fits in with the rest of our decor.
Ease of set up and usage
We found set-up to be very easy. There was just a new firmware update and that took a bit longer to download due to our internet speed. Once we were past that it took seconds to get going. We mounted the cameras and downloaded the apps and we were good to go. Pete set it up on his computer to get it customized to how we wanted to use it and then I opened the app on my iPad and we were done.
Video quality
We noticed a slight delay, again because of our internet speed at the time. But the actual quality of the video was awesome. There is no audio which is something I might have liked to have, but because of the functionality in what we are using it for, it’s not really needed.
It grows with you.
We were sent the Arlo with two cameras and for our needs that was enough, but if you need more views of your home you can add more cameras. When the girls were younger I would have loved to have had one in each of their rooms!
The Arlo is a great option for those who do not want or need a security service with a monthly fee or for those that like the option of moving the cameras. Y

That looks great! We have a home security system, and this would be a great addition to that. I love the idea of being able to see what’s happening while I’m away.
I agree. It really gives peace of mind when you can’t be at home. My husband is constantly checking on our home while we are gone.
We added a camera system to our house as well. At first, we installed it so that we could peek in on the teens when they stayed at home alone. I love having the added security too.
I love this! I’d feel much more comfortable on trips knowing that I could see the house whenever I wanted.
Are they hack-proof? You hear so many stories about how people driving by can steal your signal. I’d love to hear more about the network!

This sounds like a great product. We are currently renting so this would be perfect. I don’t want to pay for a security system to be put in a rental.
My mom had a break in a few years back and is terrified to travel now for fear it will happen again. I think this would be great at putting her mind at ease when she is away from the home.
This is a great option for us. We live in an area with very little crime but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Wow!!!this looks like a pretty fabulous monitor!!! I love in a pretty safe neighborhood, but then again you can never be too safe so maybe one of these would be great to have!
I wouldn’t mind setting up a few of these cameras in our house. We have a baby monitor for the 15 month old, but I think one in the 4 year old’s room as well as the living room would make me feel better!
Even though it seems like a great device to have these home monitor systems are not for me. I rather have a home security system.

I love all the uses! We have one camera for our toddler, but would love to have them other places and streaming, so we can keep an eye out even when we’re not home!

I would really like to install a security camera outside our home since we live on the corner of our cul de sac and see a decent amount of foot traffic. I love that this model is so easy to setup!

I have been looking into investing into a home monitor like this for quite some time. I have been unsure of where to even start looking but now I definitely know what I need to check out first.
I love that it’s wireless and I think it’s a great idea to consider having a home monitoring security system. If you work or travel alot and are away from your home it’s nice to have the added security of knowing your home is being looked out for.
This is a great home monitor security system. Definitely better than having to pay monthly fee for security cameras. .
That does look very useful to have around the house. Though I’m still slightly weary about any type of monitor system that runs on the internet.
