I love the feeling of clarity and energy that comes from reading a good book.
I used to make time to read every night and then life got in the way. One of my goals for this year is to spend more time doing what I enjoy… like reading. I love reading happy stories just as much as I love books that really make me think and evaluate my own life. Soul Sessions was an emotional experience for me, not just a story to read. It was thought provoking and touched me on a deep level.
An engaging journey of love and spiritual awakening, Soul Sessions starts in current day Chicago, where Nick Dalton is a troubled yet highly successful Investment Banker with a gorgeous girlfriend and an extravagant lifestyle. Despite all his success, Nick falls into a deep depression after a life altering event. Just as it looks as though Nick’s life might end in suicide, enter Katrina DuMont, a gifted psychologist who is expert in both traditional and new age methods of treatment for depression. Together, using past-life regression techniques, they explore several of Nick’s prior incarnations, where he unwittingly discovers a beautiful woman who repeatedly appears as his lover and soul mate. To potentially reawaken his epic love affair, Nick is compelled to search for her in this lifetime. Thus begins an astonishing story of love and intrigue, where Nick stumbles across inconceivable answers to some of life’s greatest mysteries … and once again finds the course of his life altered.
I started reading Soul Sessions in the early evening with a warm drink.
By the next day I was done. It was a smooth read that left me wanting to read more. There were parts of the story that I couldn’t relate to on a practical level because I don’t really believe in reincarnation, but on a spiritual level I related to true love. Pete and I met and married within seven months. I was out with friends and when I saw him I turned to my friends and told her that I was going to marry him. It was said from somewhere deep in my soul and was an almost involuntary reaction, which was totally unlike anything I’ve ever said and done.
I don’t want to ruin the ending so I’m not going to say much more about the story…
Some will be very satisfied with the ending and others like myself will want to know more. It did give me pause and I was okay with the ending till hours later I started thinking about it again and wanted to know more. This is the kind of book you will read over and over again and each time you will learn something more.
I do know one thing for sure… Carson Gage knows how to write a thought provoking story.
Carson Gage has been interested in the mysteries of life and death since the age of seven, when he survived being run over by a speeding car. This experience led him on a journey of discovery for answers to some of life’s biggest questions.
He reinforced my belief in soul mates, which I have always felt to be true.
Do you believe in soul mates?

I sit on the fence about soul mates- some days, I do believe in it. I think, also, that just because you are meant to be together it doesn’t mean you have to be together. Great book review!
