After a beautiful stay at Hard Rock Hotel Cancun, it was time to move over to a different part of Cancun at a different type of resort. Hard Rock Hotel Cancun is located in the hotel zone and close to shopping and nightlife, so it was really fun to be in the middle of it all! Our new host hotel, Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort is located about 20 minutes in the other direction from the airport and is situated on over 2,000 acres. Although you certainly can leave the resort and head to the hotel zone, this new resort has so much to do that there really is no reason to leave at all. In fact, we never left either resort and we never even considered doing so because they both had a lot of activities.
Olympus Tours picked us up and drove us to Moon Palace Cancun. The ride went by the colorful “Cancun” sign, and there was a little line formed for people to get their pictures taken in front of it!
When we drove through the gates to Moon Palace, Emmy instantly remembered our stay at Moon Palace Jamaica Grande earlier this year and was so excited for another cold towel. She also loved the red carnation she was welcomed with!
Our girl is getting to be quite the resort aficionado and very much appreciates and looks forward to the welcome ceremony at the resorts we stay at. She gave this one a perfect 10!
From the private check-in area, with drinks and treats to eat, to the cold towel and flower we were given, the whole process was quick and fun! As soon as we were registered, it was time to get settled into our rooms.
We are staying in a family deluxe suite that has two connecting rooms. I’ll have a full write up, but these suites are absolutely perfect for families, and we absolutely love ours!
By now we were getting very hungry, so we headed to one of the 14 restaurants for lunch. There is a buffet inside each of the three resorts on the property, and we want to try them all, starting with the one in Nizuc where we are staying. The other two resorts are Sunrise and The Grand.
After just one meal, we are all very impressed with the food. There are fresh fruits and vegetables everywhere, and this isn’t typical buffet food…it is far from it. They have fresh sushi, made to order pasta bars and housemade desserts that are flavorful and exciting!
We spend the next couple of hours exploring the property and trying to get a lay of the land. One thing we noticed right away… this place is huge, and there are pools everywhere! It also felt like we were in Hawaii with the perfectly manicured grounds and the beautiful water.
The resort runs along the beach too, so there are plenty of places to relax in lounge chairs along the edge.
Back to the food and drinks. There are bars spread out throughout the property. Even with access to so much alcohol, the feel of the resort is very family-friendly. I rarely drink alcohol, but I drink coffee all day long, and Moon Palace is famous for its coffee shops. We have been enjoying lattes and cappuccinos in them multiple times a day. They also have soy milk, so Maddie and I are in heaven! At the coffee shops, they also make fresh crepes, and there are sandwiches, salads, ice cream, cakes, chocolate truffles, and so much more.
The next thing we found when we were exploring was the teen’s lounge! I have never seen a place for teens done up so well. They thought of everything. Maddie and Ash rarely use the teen’s clubs, aside from the one on the cruise, but this one they keep going back to. There is an area for teens to enjoy a snack or meal with pizza, popcorn, drinks, and other snacks and games for them to play everywhere!
Since this is an all-inclusive resort, the games are all set to free play. No need for money at all.
There are so many places to take pictures too. I highly recommend hiring one of their photographers to take some family pictures while you are here. Sunset on the beach is a great time to do it, but really there is no bad time here for pictures!
Em wanted to check out the kids club since the moment we got here, so we wandered over there and we found some resort cats on the way!
The kids club is massive.
There are separate rooms for everything with a central room connecting them all. There is even a room for 0-3 years olds to play with their parents. Em has been eating dinner here in their little cafeteria area and going a few hours a day. I have never wanted the kids to be away from us on vacation, but Emmy LOVES going to the different kid’s clubs for the activities and to meet new friends. Something that makes me so happy each time we pick her back up again is that she tells about the new people she meets. It warms my heart to see her connect with other children all over the world, even when they don’t share a language. Friendship and fun go far beyond words.
There is even a movie theater for the kids to relax and have some popcorn as they watch a favorite movie.
Em is still in love with her fedora that Pete bought her on the beach, and she wore it as her “lucky” hat while playing UNO with the caregivers at the resort. She wasn’t thrilled to see us since she was having so much fun, but I could tell she was getting tired.
When we got back to the room, she put on the kid’s sized robe and slippers that they have in the family deluxe suites, and she fell asleep seconds later. It’s a tough life I tell you!
Maddie stayed with Emmy in the room since she had some classwork to finish and Pete, Ash and I explored a little more of the resort, and we had a drink by the pool. It was the perfect way to end a wonderful day!

I recommended this blog to more than 10 people and all of them liked it so much, because it is not just informative from the travel and lifestyle prospective, but also from the entertainment viewpoint. You get to see some great pictures of different places, get to know about hotels and staff, and get real reviews as well. such things are missing in conventional travel websites.
