We just got back from a family vacation to Beaches, Turks & Caicos and are excited to share with you a review from everyone in the family. From kids to adults, we all had a great time.
I attended the Social Media on the Sand Conference and as such was given a discount on our accommodations. This post contains affiliate links.

Our family is a little nontraditional in that we have kids born in two different decades.
This creates unique challenges and opportunities when traveling. When we are picking vacation destinations we always make sure that there are things for all ages to do. I know that our situation is becoming more and more common and that others face are in the same situation so I wanted to share why Beaches Turks and Caicos is a great option for all aged kids.

Let’s start with the accommodations.
If you are traveling with a larger family I highly recommend a suite. This is an especially good option if you have teens. My older two loved having room to get away to. You really won’t be spending too much time in your suite but it was nice to have more room when you are there. If you are traveling with younger kids you could totally get away with just having a standard room, even that is pretty roomy. When the older two were little I most likely would have opted to just go with the smaller accommodation because they tend to be near us anyway. As the two older have grown into their teen years we have decided space and having more than one bathroom is important.

This goes for all ages when you are traveling with kids, what if they get sick?
Inevitably medical issues will arise. I brought a whole pharmacy with me on our trip including a nebulizer, epi-pens, inhalers, and every cream and over the counter medicine, I could imagine we would need. I totally didn’t need to do that. I would recommend bringing your prescription medications and any over-the-counter medications you or your family take regularly but I wouldn’t pack like you are going to a deserted tropical island. This is a tropical island, but it’s far from deserted. On our last full day at Beaches, my 12-year-old started having extreme pain on her back. She has sensitive skin but we had been slathering on sunblock like crazy so I couldn’t figure out what was going on. We ended up visiting the-on-site nurse for help.
The resort is really big and we had no problem walking to and from every part of it, but this time my daughter just didn’t feel up to a long walk. We went to the lobby of the Key West Village (where we were staying) and asked for the golf cart to come pick us up. We’d used the golf cart service before and it was normally pretty quick to get there, this time we told them we were going to the nurse and the golf cart was there almost instantly. That is one thing about everyone that works at Beaches, they really do treat you like they would their own family.
We waited about 2 minutes for the nurse to see us and we were on our way within 5 minutes. She took a quick medical history of my daughter and knew pretty quickly that she was having a reaction to the sun {go figure}… dispensed medication and a treatment plan and we were on our way. Visits to the nurse and medication are included in your stay. We were not charged for any of it. For more severe issues they are happy to call an outside Doctor at your own expense. I was completely confident in the medical care and it was nice to know it’s there if needed.

Another hit with the bigger kids is the in-room gaming system and free WIFI throughout the resort.
We didn’t spend too much time in our suite, but into the evening we did play a few games. There is also a gaming lounge with more games than I’ve ever seen in my life. Pete and the girls went there a few times and loved it. The games are for all ages and abilities. Plus the AC in there was always cool! The older two brought their cell phones and we were able to stay in touch with family at home via WIFI, It’s a huge bonus that they offer that.

There are so many things to do at Beaches but you will still want to find time for these amazing beaches.
The sky and water are the bluest-blue I have ever seen and the sand is silkie smooth. I’ve seen many beautiful beaches, but none this striking. Each of the girls said that one of their favorite parts was just being able to spend time on the beach.
With 20 restaurants, this is a kid’s (and parents) eating paradise!

These are just some of our favorite restaurants.
Bayside is located in the Key West Village and we ate there at least once a day, normally for breakfast and a couple of times for dinner. The location is spectacular and it looks out over the ocean. They have a pretty good buffet but the coolest part is that they also have a sushi chef there to make you custom sushi. It was a great discovery to find that so close because the actual sushi restaurant is on the other side of the resort. There is also another restaurant on top of Bayside called Sky with views you will never forget! The kids all loved this because it was open-air and they loved the views.

Cafe de Paris has really great coffee drinks and pastries.
At night they have a chocolate fondue set up and during the day there are warm chocolate chip cookies ready for you to grab and go. One day I counted over 15 different desserts. I recommend getting a to-go box of an assortment of treats to snack on back in your room… or on the beach!

Right when you check-in, make a reservation for Kimonos.
This is one of the only restaurants that you need reservations at. It fills up very quickly and we had to ask every day that we were there to finally get a reservation on our last night. It was the perfect way to end our vacation. It is a live-action meal where you are cooked for and entertained right in front of you. The food was some of the best at the whole resort too and that is saying a lot. They were also more than happy to make our meal there vegetarian. There is one restaurant at the resort that is for adults 16+, the rest are all kid-friendly and you can wear casual resort attire.

I can’t forget to mention Bobby Dee’s.
This is a totally 50’s dinner with an ice cream counter where they have cones, sundaes, banana splits, and shakes available 24 hours a day. You can also get hamburgers and veggie burgers, french fries, chicken nuggets, and pizza whenever you want. We practically lived at Bobby Dee’s and we ended every night with a scoop {or two, just keeping it real} of ice cream!

There are pools everywhere for the kids.
We even had one right outside our room. These are our two favorite ones. We loved the kids one right out front of Bobby Dee’s because it had a kids swim-up bar. This other one is practically on the beach and was so relaxing. The kids could go from pool to beach easily and I just picked up my book and drink and went from one lounge chair to the other following them.

Kids drinks.
I don’t even have to say more really, kids + unlimited drinks = happy kids. All three girls loved all the drinks. We are mostly water drinkers so this was a total treat. The older two handled it well, the little one nearly drank herself silly with Cran-Dandy Coolers. She is still talking about all those drinks. I do want to mention that the drinking age is 18 so if you are bringing an 18-year-old you might want to have another talk about drinking before you get here. There are bars everywhere you look and we never had to wait for service. Plus the drinks are refilled twice a day in your room too!
On another note, I was a bit concerned about the all you can drink aspect of the resort before we got there.
I imagined a college fraternity party everywhere with the alcohol so free-flowing… it was nothing like that. This is a very family-friendly resort and everyone acts accordingly.

I saved the biggest kid thrill for last.
Teens, Tweens, and younger ones all love the water park. There is a whole area that my 4-year-old and 12-year-old explored with water slides {lot’s of them} and shooting water and everything else you can imagine and my teen just relaxed in the lazy river. She would have stayed there all day every day if she could have. If you have more adventurous kids there is also a surf/bodyboarding pool. Pete, my husband, is always up for fun and he did it a bunch of times!
Can you tell that we absolutely love this place? Ok, I saved the best part for last. If you would like to create your own memories, I have a special link for my readers that will give you the best possible deal that Beaches Turks & Caicos is currently running. If you click here, you will be taken to the booking site where you can price out your own dream vacation. Again… this place was absolutely AMAZING.

We had to turn it down because of a previous engagement, but it looks like it was a lot of fun!
That looks like a ton of fun. We will be going to the Caribbean in January but, unfortunately, our teen elected to stay home. She doesn’t want to go on a cruise. *gasp*
I am so jealous. Looks like you had an amazing time. My favorite thing to do on vacation is just relax!

Okay, I need to go there!! It looks like you all had a blast!!!
Wow, I’m impressed. I for some reason didn’t realize there was so much for the kids to do there, besides the amazing beaches.
This looks like a fantastic place to go on vacation. I love to go to the beach when i am on vacation.
Such a beautiful place. I would of never thought of that as being a place to bring the kids, thanks for opening my mind up..
Wow does this make me want to plan a family vacay stat! Looks like an amazing adventure!
My family are total beach lovers. I’ve never seen such beautiful beaches – white sands and crystal blue waters, I want to visit!
That looks like a great place for families. It is great that there are so many things to do for anyone. Glad you all enjoyed your vacation.
We’ve been to Beaches in Jamaica, which isn’t nearly as lovely as Turks & Caicos but my daughter was a toddler and loved the Sesame Street characters. I also got sick while on property and made use of the on-site medical services. It is a very nice amenity because I wound up needing antibiotics and had trouble dealing with the flight home so I’m glad they offered that service.
Now that it’s in the 30s here, I’m ready for a beach vacation! This is definitely on my list of beaches to visit.
It looks like everyone had a wonderful time! This is definitely a great destination for families!
Stunning photos as always! It looks like you guys had a blast! I so want to take my kiddos the next time I go.
I really like this. You never hear a lot about traveling overseas with older kids.
Family vacations are a great way to bond, teach and create memories.
Love the photos of the beach. Gorgeous! It reminds me of my home country. 🙂
