Pete and Ashley have never been so fit and I’m so proud of them.
Seeing what dedication to exercise and really just moving more can do for you as shown by these two has really encouraged me to make it a priority in my life too. I often come up with excuses as to why I don’t work out more. I don’t have time. I’m too busy… and other reasons I create in my mind are what is keeping me from being a better and healthier me. That’s about to change.
I was so excited to receive a Garmin vívoactive from our friends at Garmin who are sponsoring this post.
Originally I was going to wear it wear it and try it out… but before I would even claim it, Pete was wearing it and refusing to take it off. Whenever I’m working on a tech post like this one, Pete and I always work on them together. I’ve found that he sees things I don’t and that we are able to make a much better assessment of new products together. So it was no surprise that he had already opened it up and was learning all about it.
So that’s how it went for a few days. We rotated back and forth who got to wear it.
I love that no matter what your fitness level, Garmin has a product that can help you take charge of your daily health and activity. Garmin’s vivo family of products is perfect to get going. The Garmin vívoactive is a GPS smartwatch for the active lifestyle.
Here are Pete’s thoughts on why he loves the Garmin vívoactive.
Notifications – It will give you a short vibration to notify you of incoming texts, emails, and phone calls. It is perfect for when you don’t want to pull your phone out of your pocket….you can determine if it is an important message or not with a glance at the watch. The app lets you control what things will notify you in this manner too.
I keep active by running after my toddler. Would love to be more active to be able to keep up.
Make it a routine and never miss a Monday!
Bike
How I wish to have a friend who will buy this one for me! It looks classy and techy.
My best advice for staying fit is drinking PLENTY of water and trying to fit in 30-60 minutes of activity almost every day!
What a great product, I just might get this for my Husband for christmas! He would love something new to play around with, and brag about haha
Get plenty of sleep at night, that way your butt is not dragging the next day, and you have energy to stay active.
this looks great — I love the integration between devices, would really be helpful in integrating my running schedule with my log.
Try to drink more water and less pop. Take an evening walk.
This looks so cool. I think my husband would love to have a cool fitness device like this.
I always use the stairs, not the elevator! Happy holidays!
I just make a goal get outside at least once a day. Even a 20 minute walk is better than nothing at all! Everyone has enough time for that.
I have the Garmin VivoFit and I love it!! It really makes me pay attention to my movements throughout the day and makes me get up and move more!!
That is an excellent gift idea, esp for people who love to walk\hike\jog.
This looks like a great product. I bet a lot of people would love to receive this as a gift this year. I know who I would pick one up for, thanks for sharing!
I would love to have one of these for working out! I would love to be able to track my fitness this easily.
I love fitness trackers. I think they are such a good and easy way to see how active you are.
I stay active by doing daily physical therapy routines I was taught after having hip surgery.
I stay active by walking around the house while I talk on the telephone, and exercising in front of the TV when I’m watching my shows.
I stay active chasing around 4 little ones and I work outside as a residential appraiser. But in my spare time. I advise to stay active by making it fun.. I get a good work out playing softball ; )
Make some minor tweaks to your day to day lifestyle, if you find your sat still all day, have meetings standing up (much better for you) or walk and talk if it’s a 1 on 1 thing, use your breaks to get away from your desk and do a brisk walk. Simple things like always take the stairs rather than a lift or standing still on an elevator, climbing flights of stairs is really good for you.
I have a friend back home who is really into fitness and really into her health above and beyond anyone else I know. This would be perfect for her.
You have no idea how timely this post is. I’ve wanted a fit bit since my daughter took the one I was gifted… however, the Garmin vívoactive has more features and functionality for my needs. I’ll be looking for one for sure!
That’s a really nifty thing. My son and DIL are really into fitness (as should I be) and I know they’d love this.
I make sure to get at least an hour of cross fitness in a day be it right in the morning or late at night I make sure to get it in my day.
This would be great to have for hubby and me. We need to become more active and lose this extra weight.
Hubby and I motviate each other to stay active and its a great example to our kids who love to stay active as well.
Eat from smaller plates. Exercise 30 minutes a day. Kerp the white color food on your plate to a minimum, “more green keeps you lean”! Water, water, water! One donught won’t make you fat and obe salad won’t make you skinny! All words to live by! ?
running and cycling. although i much prefer cycling i actually feel like i’m going somewhere.
My husband has been trying to get me more active and he just asks what kinds of things I’m interested in. He wants one of these watches to track his workouts now that he’s being more active!
That looks like a really awesome watch! It would definitely be a great item to have under our tree! Plus, I think my husband would love it as well!
The two features that I like the most is that it is waterproof and the battery life is long. I am constantly forgetting to charge things.
I love all the technology that keeps me more active. It’s fun to have all the information so readily available.
This does indeed sound like an amazing gift for any one really. I would love to have one of these Garmin vívoactive smartwatches and it is on my wish list for Christmas. It is so important to stay active so my advice to anyone is to walk the distance instead of taking shortcuts. Taking the stairs is a good one instead of an elevator. We have been at the hospital a lot the past three months and I don’t think I have walked or climbed so much in my life. Thanks for sharing. I love this product.
I love to workout! And, yes, this is absolutely amazing gift for fitness fanatics, I’d love if someone would buy this for me!
I stay active by doing workouts on youtube in my living room. I go on walks or hikes to switch it up every now and then.
I want one of these! I run outside instead of going to the gym, and I hate that I often don’t know exactly how far or fast I ran. This would be great to keep track of my stats.
This would be nice for my husband he would love this.
The bus stop is a tenth of a mile there and a tenth back! I get almost a half mile of walking done a day. I resist the urge to hop in my car…
My hubby and I are exercising a lot lately! This would motivate him to keep it up.
I think that Garmin Vivoactive would be perfect for my daughter. She loves going on runs and I’m sure the stats on the app would help her!
It’s really an awesome watch to have. It would be nice to give as a gift, I hope it comes in different colors! I would keep one for myself as well.
I really want a fitness tracker. Maybe Santa will bring me one.
I wish someone could send me like this as a Christmas gift for me.
I love Samsung products. This looks really neat! I’m going to have to look into getting myself one.
I keep active by chasing a 5 year old around all the time.
I stay active by playing sports with my kids.
I stay active by using my fitness tracker on bike rides. A few hours out there and you easily reach your daily calorie burn
Looks like a good gadget to have. This can surely keep me active.
I tried one of these out and I really enjoyed it. It delivers everything I would want from a fitness tracker.
