I love this time of year.
There is so much happiness to this season of the year, but I especially love how everyone comes together to help others in need. It can be the little way you hold the door open for a stranger or something bigger like giving food and clothes to those in need. Either way it feels good to help and to get some help if you need it.
Through a campaign called Wishes For Others “#WishForOthers” Capital One is hoping to help make the holidays a little brighter this year by helping to share and grant people’s wish for others.
During the holidays, we’re often asked what we wish for ourselves.
This holiday season, Capital One is instead asking people to share their wish for others. As a family we decided what our wish for others was, and this year it was for everyone in our community to have enough food to eat and then I submitted our with to Capital One.
You can share your wish for someone else too!
Maybe for a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or a community? When you submit your #WishForOthers on Twitter, Instagram, or the Capital One Facebook page from Nov. 24 through Dec. 23 you will be entering for a chance to make it come true!
I wish that no child had to go hungry! It makes me sad.
My wish for others is that the giving spirit can continue year-round. There is always such a focus during the holidays (which is terrific!) but other times of the year it is much more sparse. Lets open our hearts and minds year round!
My wish is that people help each other all year and not just around the holidays. I mean, it’s very nice to do for others any time of year, but it seems like we all get gung ho around the holidays, and the we just forget that people are hungry ALL year.
My biggest wish is that this never needed to be done. It’s a horrible thing to go hungry, both physically and emotionally. It can’t feel good to be in need.
This is a great thing that more parents should do. Keep up the great work!
Nobody should go hungry, it is great you are helping others. We help with our local food bank each year.
Such a basic need, and it’s so sad that we have to worry about people in our communities not being able to meet it! I love your wish! And I hope it happens!
I think the food banks will get stocked up nicely this holiday season. I know I’m bringing a car load over there!
My wish for others is that they would learn to get along when adversity rises.
My wish this year is for those who are suffering from loss and grief that they can find peace and comfort. Those who are lonely can be welcomed with a smile by others and made to feel less lonely. And those in need of basic human needs and suffer hunger can find a warm place to sleep and food to eat.
What a great lesson to teach our children! I will be doing this with our kids too.
I really wish that people would give all year long. I really wish that.
That is a great thing to wish for. We like to give as much as we can and buy tons of presents, as well… to hand out :0
I wish that all families have a warm place to celebrate the holidays. What a great lesson for your kids!
My wish for others is happiness. It is so important to raise kids that are thankful for what they have.
What a selfless beautiful wish.
That is a lovely wish. I wish that no family goes hungry this holiday season. I don’t like it when I hear that children are going hungry. It’s why we donate to our church pantry.
I have thought about this a lot lately. If I could get one wish, I would wish for every child stuck in the hospital to be able to open a gift this year.
What a lovely wish! I guess with all of the negativity in our country right now, I wish for more peace for all.
What an absolutely lovely and heart-warming wish AND program! It’s amazing to see all the people, communities, and companies that come together to help out others during the holidays 🙂
What a beautiful program. I wish that everyone would do something nice for someone else. It’s so easy to get selfish during this time of year with our own wants, so we should give back more.
This is great. This year we donated a thanksgiving dinner to our local “Turkey Tuesday” event and it feels so good to give to others that may not have enough this holiday season. Thanks for sharing this.
My wish is that everyone goes to sleep Thanksgiving night with a full tummy, and a warm bed. God bless!
I wish that others are able to be with their families this holiday season. I know how hard it is to live so far away from family.
I think this is good to have a wish for others instead of ourselves. This would make the holiday season much more sweeter.
I wish that all the children get to experience food, warmth, and family this year. This was a great and inspirational post. Thanks.
What a beautiful wish to have. I always think its good to help out the food pantries when able.
I wish that every orphan finds a home and family for Christmas. I know thats a tough one but just imagine…
My wish is for others to have enough to eat and a warm place to stay during these cold months.
I wish that those with no family will find a warm place to celebrate thanksgiving. No one should be alone!
Thanks so much for sharing. I’ll be sure to share my wish for others on Twitter.
So many wishes! For my family I wish for simple peace and happiness.
I love all the programs and initiatives this time of Year. I wish that more would do it all year!
this is such a lovely program, and easy to help out! I would wish for others to have heat, roof over their heads and a warm meal all year round. I never realized just how many children don’t even have a way to keep themselves clean. Thanks for spreading this campaign message around the world!
A lovely wish – shows what a kind heart you have
Thanks Claire <3
The holidays are my absolutely favorite time of year. I love you photos by the way 🙂
We try to donate to out local food bank every month. During the holidays we go and buy some turkeys to donate as well. My wish is for everyone to be healthy and happy.
I’m wishing for world peace and the end of hunger and homelessness. The world would be a much better place. 🙂
It’s insanely sad that people are starving around this time of year, it really breaks my heart.
I love this campaign! I love that i can wish for other people.. 🙂 I just wish that there will be no more poverty. All happy and wealthy 😀
I wish that all the people who get together at the holidays could make peace. I wish they could get along all year and not just for one day.
That is such a lovely, caring wish to have. It’s so important to think of those less fortunate this Christmas time.
My wish is that everyone has warm winter coats. It can get very cold in the winter
I always told my kids to always be grateful especially to their Dad who works hard. I always told them to be kind to other people. I grow up poor and appreciate where I am now. My wish for other is that…I hope that homeless have a warm place to stay during the winter. I wish that they have food to eat as well too.
Really great! Beautiful program. Every parents should teach our children about this great lesson. I can’t tolerate, when I hear someone is hungry. One side many people keep wasting foods and on the other side so many are struggling to survive without food. which is really horrible. I wish that everyone would do something for someone else.
Our kids´school does this with one family each year. They write their wishes (within reason) and the kids do their best to fullfill them for Christmas.
It its great to find ways to help others’ dreams come true. It is a shame people don’t have this spirit all year long.
That every child has a gift under the tree. Or a gift during the holiday season. 🙂
My wish is that every child gets a gift to open and a meal to eat!
