Today is Mother’s Day and we are celebrating in a big way today! See those smiles above? That’s us having some fun on the computer making my mom a #Moem! Have you heard of a Moem? It’s a tribute poem to Mom, written and posted on Facebook and Twitter, preferably rhyming, in 110 characters or less. They are super fun to write and to read, and I can’t wait to share it with my mom today… I know she will LOVE it!
What makes a #MOEM even more special is that MetLife Foundations will make a $10 donation (up to $50K) to Dress for Success! Dress for Success is a really awesome organization that provides financial advice and access to services for low-income women. That $10 donation will really help someone in need in a big way!
I already made my #MOEM for my mom and tweeted it out! Pretty cool right?
And although I’m a Writer, I’m not a poet so I was a little nervous to write a #MOEM… but have no fear… there is a #Moem generator tool to help you make your own! My girls are even making their own for me!
It makes Mother’s Day even more special to know that I’m helping others by making a #MOEM and tweeting and Facebooking it out! It only took me about 3 minutes to do, so take a few minutes and make your own! While you can keep making a new Moems after Mother’s Day, the donations end at midnight on Mother’s Day.
This is a neat idea that helps a great cause. I like how easy they made it to compose a few words for mom.
