I’ve become a changed person this past year.

I’m no longer sitting on the sidelines dreaming of making changes. I’m making those changes. Some of them are mental, like pushing past my comfort zone, and some of them are physical… like focusing on intentional eating and being more active. I no longer say I want to look and feel better, I’m taking steps to make this happen.

As a mom and business owner I was putting me last.

And although this is a hot topic right now about how we, as busy women need to put ourselves first, it’s not something I was comfortable doing. I chose to work and I chose to have children so in my mind I have no right to put me first… and I’m okay with that. I can’t see me ever doing that, but at the same time that doesn’t mean I can’t take care of myself better. Plus taking care of myself makes me a better person to all those other people that need me. It’s a win-win.

Now that I’m eating with a focus and moving more (exercise), I’m starting to see results. I have more energy and equally important, I’m feel better about myself. I’m not hiding behind everyone in pictures, (which by the way is a ridiculous thing to do in the first place) or only taking pictures showing the top half of me. And although I love how my body is starting to look… I realized that diet and exercise are not enough for some spots of my body.

No matter how much I tried to thin out in a couple places it just wasn’t happening.

I noticed that there were spots that just never seemed to drop the fat like I wanted. Primarily right above my c-section scar(s).

I remember after my first c-section I went into my doctors office and we talked about how I was under my pre-pregnancy weight, which was great… but that I wanted to know when the “pooch” would go away. The look in his eyes was both comical and sad. He just said it wouldn’t… I blinked back at him and asked why? He said it’s just part of the process… and I accepted that. Except years later that area is like a fat collecting ground. Like my body is mocking me… “we know you hate this pocket of fat so we are going to make it GROW”. Even when I would lose weight that spot never went down no matter what I did.

And really it is just a couple places on my body, that fat seems to stay, but to me it’s a big deal. I know I’m not alone with this because it’s one of the first things my girlfriends and I talk about after one of us has a baby. And I used to brush it off that my body doesn’t define me (and it still doesn’t), but looking my best means something to me and I think that’s okay to say outloud. I want to look my best because it makes me feel my best.

We are not defined by our bodies, but it’s okay to want to look our best because that extra push can help us excel in other areas of our life too.

There are many steps I’m taking to make sure I’m feeling and looking my best, but one of my most favorite’s is that I’m going to be receiving the CoolSculpting procedure.

Coolsculpting is a non-surgical way to get rid of unwanted fat in the abdomen, flank (love handles) and thighs that has not responded to diet and exercise. I’m so excited to finally see some results in areas that I’ve never been able to help with just exercise, like my lower abdomen area. I’ve learned that the best candidates are people near their ideal body weight with unwanted fat in those areas. It is not intended as a weight loss procedure. I’m excited to stop fearing mirrors and photographs, and I’m ready to start feeling comfortable in the body I’m in!

We are going back to Turks & Caicos in October and I’m really excited to be bikini ready by then.

CoolSculpting is not an immediate fix… following the CoolSculpting procedure, patients typically see a 20-25 percent reduction of fat in the treated area, with results as early as three weeks. The most dramatic results are typically observed 1-3 months after treatment. Which is why this is the perfect time for me to start!

The first step in looking my best was to have a free consultation. You can get one too by visiting the consultation request page ( please note there are few limited markets, like San Diego where the free consultation is available). I learned a lot about the CoolSculpting procedure at my free consultation including that it is the only cold-based, non-surgical body contouring treatment that is cleared by the FDA to treat unwanted fat that is resistant to diet and exercise.

Non-surgical was a big deal to me, and unlike other surgical procedures designed to reduce fat, the CoolSculpting procedure does not involve surgery, anesthesia or downtime.

More than 1.5 million CoolSculpting treatments have been performed in over 70 countries around the world. The technology was developed by Harvard scientists and is based on science of Cryolipolysis®, a process demonstrating that when fat cells are exposed to extreme cold, they die, and are naturally eliminated from the body for good. During the CoolSculpting procedure, non-invasive applicators deliver precisely controlled cooling to the treatment area to specifically target underlying fat, leaving surface skin and other surrounding tissue unaffected.

The CoolSculpting procedure is available through an elite network of CoolSculpting centers worldwide.

The complete list of licensed dermatologists, plastic surgeons and leading aesthetic practices offering the CoolSculpting procedure can be found on www.coolsculpting.com.

If you have been looking for a solution to unwanted fat I really encourage you to request a free consultation so that you can learn more about the procedure and how it would help you.

I am really excited to be having CoolSculpting and I will be back with my results to share with you all!

  • I would love to do something like this! I have been exercising a lot, but the pouch goes nowhere! Enjoy the results! I might have to check into this when I have a little more money! 🙂

  • I would love, love, love to try something like this. I have heard of it, but I am not sure I can afford it right now.

  • I have never heard of this! I have that pooch because my son was 23″ and 10 lb. 7 oz! That does bad things to your abs lol. This would be great!

  • I had never heard of Cool sculpting very interesting but since I am open you got my attention. Lovely but out of my budget at this time. Thanks for sharing.

  • I am so interested in hearing how your results are. I would love to try this. It can be so hard to slim down in some places.

  • That is something I have dealt with. Even when I lose weight, I still don’t drop any sizes in my belly area! And it is so discouraging! I lost 25 lbs but never lost a single inch on my waist. It is so discouraging. So definitely this is something I am going to have to keep in mind once this baby is out and I’m back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

  • Wow! You know I am also right down to my pre-pregnancy weight and that pooch isn’t going away. I can’t wait to read about your results!

  • How cool is this? I’ve never heard of cool sculpting. I’d love to save up my money and do something like this!

  • How cool! I would actually try this out. I think these treatments can really help and it looks pretty cool too! Thanks for sharing!

  • I’ve never heard of coolsculpting. I’d love to see the results when you’re done. Good luck!

  • This is totally new to me and I’m loving it. Although I’m probably not a likely candidate for this procedure I could sure use it on certain areas of my body–love handles come to mind!

  • Wow that was really amazing!! I’ve never tried this. I want that even if I had no idea about coolsculpting.

  • Congratulations on taking that step for yourself – and I’ve heard that the prices are getting better along with the procedures – I would love to get bikini ready that quick!

  • I haven’t ever heard of this before. I would love to try something like this! Good for you for taking the step, we all need to feel our best!

  • I am looking forward to hearing about your results. I love that it is non-surgical, especially since I won’t get near anything that has needles, anesthesia, etc ever again after a traumatic experience last year. This sounds so interesting!

  • I’ve never heard of that before but sounds like something I would benefit from. Can’t wait to hear about your results.

  • I have heard of this procedure before !! I didn’t really think much of it until after I gave birth to my daughter, I have the dreaded ‘pooch’ as well, I’ll have to set up a consultation.

  • I haven’t heard of this procedure before . I could definitely use it because after having my girls I do have a hard time losing it on my stomach.

  • I’ve been making changes, too! Some of them have been uncomfortable to make, but I’m happier with myself and the outcome of trying.

  • Sounds like a great procedure more so because its nonsurgical. Can not wait to see the results

  • I have never heard about cool sculpting before. Sounds like a great idea. Glad to know that you got amazing results from it. Will have to check it out & share with friends too.

  • I’ve always been skinny and never had problems with excess fats. It is something my sister would surely be interested to try though. Excess fats around the belly area has always been her biggest problem. 🙂

  • I have gained a lot of weight over the past year and my doctor is concerned. I need to be more present when I eat and get moving myself. i would love to try the CoolSculpting if it were not so expensive.

  • I have heard a lot about this new technology lately and think it is great!! I think it would be great before an big event!

  • I’ve never heard of this procedure before today. This would be great for those who went through a huge weight loss transformation but can’t lose that lil bit of fat.

  • Wiw!!! This is so neat. I really thought I knew about everything when it comes to this kinda thing and this is all new to me!
