I’ve become a changed person this past year.
I’m no longer sitting on the sidelines dreaming of making changes. I’m making those changes. Some of them are mental, like pushing past my comfort zone, and some of them are physical… like focusing on intentional eating and being more active. I no longer say I want to look and feel better, I’m taking steps to make this happen.
As a mom and business owner I was putting me last.
And although this is a hot topic right now about how we, as busy women need to put ourselves first, it’s not something I was comfortable doing. I chose to work and I chose to have children so in my mind I have no right to put me first… and I’m okay with that. I can’t see me ever doing that, but at the same time that doesn’t mean I can’t take care of myself better. Plus taking care of myself makes me a better person to all those other people that need me. It’s a win-win.
Now that I’m eating with a focus and moving more (exercise), I’m starting to see results. I have more energy and equally important, I’m feel better about myself. I’m not hiding behind everyone in pictures, (which by the way is a ridiculous thing to do in the first place) or only taking pictures showing the top half of me. And although I love how my body is starting to look… I realized that diet and exercise are not enough for some spots of my body.
No matter how much I tried to thin out in a couple places it just wasn’t happening.
I noticed that there were spots that just never seemed to drop the fat like I wanted. Primarily right above my c-section scar(s).
I remember after my first c-section I went into my doctors office and we talked about how I was under my pre-pregnancy weight, which was great… but that I wanted to know when the “pooch” would go away. The look in his eyes was both comical and sad. He just said it wouldn’t… I blinked back at him and asked why? He said it’s just part of the process… and I accepted that. Except years later that area is like a fat collecting ground. Like my body is mocking me… “we know you hate this pocket of fat so we are going to make it GROW”. Even when I would lose weight that spot never went down no matter what I did.
And really it is just a couple places on my body, that fat seems to stay, but to me it’s a big deal. I know I’m not alone with this because it’s one of the first things my girlfriends and I talk about after one of us has a baby. And I used to brush it off that my body doesn’t define me (and it still doesn’t), but looking my best means something to me and I think that’s okay to say outloud. I want to look my best because it makes me feel my best.
We are not defined by our bodies, but it’s okay to want to look our best because that extra push can help us excel in other areas of our life too.
There are many steps I’m taking to make sure I’m feeling and looking my best, but one of my most favorite’s is that I’m going to be receiving the CoolSculpting procedure.
Coolsculpting is a non-surgical way to get rid of unwanted fat in the abdomen, flank (love handles) and thighs that has not responded to diet and exercise. I’m so excited to finally see some results in areas that I’ve never been able to help with just exercise, like my lower abdomen area. I’ve learned that the best candidates are people near their ideal body weight with unwanted fat in those areas. It is not intended as a weight loss procedure. I’m excited to stop fearing mirrors and photographs, and I’m ready to start feeling comfortable in the body I’m in!
We are going back to Turks & Caicos in October and I’m really excited to be bikini ready by then.
CoolSculpting is not an immediate fix… following the CoolSculpting procedure, patients typically see a 20-25 percent reduction of fat in the treated area, with results as early as three weeks. The most dramatic results are typically observed 1-3 months after treatment. Which is why this is the perfect time for me to start!
The first step in looking my best was to have a free consultation. You can get one too by visiting the consultation request page ( please note there are few limited markets, like San Diego where the free consultation is available). I learned a lot about the CoolSculpting procedure at my free consultation including that it is the only cold-based, non-surgical body contouring treatment that is cleared by the FDA to treat unwanted fat that is resistant to diet and exercise.
Non-surgical was a big deal to me, and unlike other surgical procedures designed to reduce fat, the CoolSculpting procedure does not involve surgery, anesthesia or downtime.
More than 1.5 million CoolSculpting treatments have been performed in over 70 countries around the world. The technology was developed by Harvard scientists and is based on science of Cryolipolysis®, a process demonstrating that when fat cells are exposed to extreme cold, they die, and are naturally eliminated from the body for good. During the CoolSculpting procedure, non-invasive applicators deliver precisely controlled cooling to the treatment area to specifically target underlying fat, leaving surface skin and other surrounding tissue unaffected.
The CoolSculpting procedure is available through an elite network of CoolSculpting centers worldwide.
The complete list of licensed dermatologists, plastic surgeons and leading aesthetic practices offering the CoolSculpting procedure can be found on www.coolsculpting.com.
If you have been looking for a solution to unwanted fat I really encourage you to request a free consultation so that you can learn more about the procedure and how it would help you.
I am really excited to be having CoolSculpting and I will be back with my results to share with you all!
OMG I am so pro cosmetic procedures. I feel you definitely should do what it takes to feel good. Can’t wait to see your results.
Very cool! I need some midtummy trimming 🙂
i did this a few yrs ago, did not work for me. the applicators were too large for me, and did not hold the suction. so they used the smaller ones, but still i had no results, it was a waste of money for me. when i came back for my check up the dr. said i was not a good candidate, was not large enough, wish she had told me that b4 i wasted my money and went in for consult. it does not work for everyone, especially if you are not really overweight and just want to lose a few,
Sounds great, hope you get the results your looking for. 🙂
This sounds like an amazing procedure indeed for those that are close to there normal body weight. I love that it doesn’t require surgery or down time. The CoolSculpting is something that I am going to have to look into for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Thiis does sound good. Love non surgical approach.
Getting in shape can be really tough. Even more, it often takes a long time, and diet and exercise doesn’t always work for everyone.I was pre-diabetic and morbidly obese about four years ago. In that time, I successfully lost and kept off almost 80 pounds, but it took a long time and there are still some areas of my body that look pretty awful, like my stomach. Ugh, the stomach is always the worst! CoolSculpting looks really interesting, and I love that it is non-surgical. That is very important to me as well.
What is the cost per procedure and how many procedures for each problem area?
Hi Tammy,
Each person requires a different amount of procedures at a different cost. During your consultation they can share all of that with you.
