Yesterday marked the start of our travel season! We lay low around Southern California during the summer, and then as soon as school starts again, we get our travel on! Yesterday afternoon we drove up to Morro Bay in this awesome Ford Expedition compliments of Ford. It is turning out to be the perfect road trip vehicle and comfortably fits all five of us with all of our stuff!

For the start of our road trip, we are spending two days exploring Morro Bay with a hosted visit by Discover Morro Bay  We have been looking forward to this visit for months now. We have driven through Morro Bay so many times in the past, and we keep saying that we should spend some time here, and we are thrilled it is finally happening. We've only been here for less than a day, and it is already proven to be very family friendly. I will have a full post with everything to do in Morro Bay as a family with kids of all ages, but I just had to share these pictures from yesterday! It is so beautiful, relaxing, and there are so many adventures to be had in Morro Bay!

I will be sharing live on Instagram (@itisalovelylife), and Pete (@the_reesefamily) will be too!

Here are the picture highlights from our first day in Morro Bay:

This is the view off our private patio at the hotel we are staying at, The Inn At Morro Bay. We are staying in the cottage that is right on the bay with an amazing view of Morro Rock!

There are a lot of hiking trails, and we took a 3-mile trail straight from the hotel up to the top of Black Hill.

Dinner at Bayside Cafe… this restaurant felt like it was straight out of a novel. It is very quaint and a favorite among locals.

Sunset over Morro Bay!

We have a day of fun ahead of us with breakfast, paddleboarding, lunch at a vegan restaurant, exploring around town, a surrey ride, and dinner with a bay view! Pete and Ashley are at Crossfit this morning, and as soon as they are back, we are on our way!

Here is our video for the day:

Have you ever been to Morro Bay?
