Day two brought us a new hotel and a new view of Waikiki!
We are on the other end of Waikiki, and it’s given us a whole different view of the beautiful beaches and more places to explore. Here are some photos of our two bedroom suite to share…
After we settled into our new room, we headed downstairs to the restaurant for lunch. Being vegetarian and vegan on the island has been a slight struggle, not because there aren’t a good supply of fruits and veggies, but because they all seem to be topped with seafood of some sort. Luckily most places have a couple options for us, and we certainly aren’t going hungry. This pesto pasta was delicious!
Shortly after lunch, we headed up to partner, Gunstock Ranch. I will be writing another post on our ride, but you can see from these pictures, that we all had a great time. Emmy and I finished our ride early…just in time for the sky to open with a little tropical rainfall. We loved the sprinkles that fell, Pete and the girls got soaked… and they didn’t mind one bit. Neither did the horses!
One thing I learned yesterday is that Oahu is much bigger than it seems, and that traffic is a real thing here. So plan a lot of travel time. We worked our way from Waikiki closer to the North Shore, and the drive is just beautiful. Going through the mountains was something we all really enjoyed, and then the ride along the coast was breathtaking. The ocean changes colors from blue to green as quickly as the sunsets and the colors in between are just amazing!
Here is a video recap of day 2!
Tomorrow we are headed for a jungle expedition and then to Pearl Harbor. It’s going to be another full day.
Where are you going on your next vacation?
Boy, those horses have a good life!
We love Hawaii.
I have always wanted to visit Oahu! Now I know that taking the kids wouldn’t be that far out!
What a beautiful resort stay!! I am loving the room and I know you and the family had a ball out there!
Looks like you and the fam had a great visit to Hawaii 🙂
