Growing up with the Irish last name Delaney, you can only imagine how special St. Patrick’s Day was at my house.
My mom went all out (still does) on that special day of green-ness! We normally had green milk and eggs for breakfast with green mac n cheese for dinner along with corned beef and cabbage. And the clothes, there wasn’t an inch of me that didn’t have green on (I didn’t want to get pinched!).
Somethings haven’t changed and now it’s my job to throw some awesome St. Patrick’s Day fun for my own kids!
This year I decided to surprise them when I planned our monthly movie night and I turned it into a Saint Patrick’s Day Party with TruMoo Fondue made with TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow!
As our go-to milk, I love including TruMoo in our movie night parties because the girls LOVE the taste and I love that there are no artificial growth hormones.
Plus it works so well into our theme nights. TruMoo’s chocolate marshmallow milk is what makes this recipe so awesome! It already has a great chocolate and marshmallow base and I just played up on that a bit to make it thicker for the dip!
Because my movie night parties are normally on a school night, they have to be super easy. This was one of the best fondues I’ve ever had… and it was the easiest to make too!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow
- 2 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- 2 cups marshmallows
Directions:
On low to medium heat, melt all ingredients stirring constantly until all of the marshmallows are melted into the chocolate. Set aside for 2 minutes to thicken up. Slice up some (green) apples to dip in the fondue and enjoy!
I had so much fun with the decorations too!
Shamrocks everywhere! And I couldn’t not have all the accessories too! I have a box of all of these that I bring out each year and add to it too! I pulled it out and about 20 minutes later we had a party!
The dip was so good!
I also served it with the TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow topped with whipped cream and green sprinkles on top! I think the girls now expect that there will be TruMoo whenever we watch movies and have our party nights. I’m totally okay with that too! The last couple times we had TruMoo I blended ice into it or ice cream but this time I just served it in the dip and poured straight from the container and my middle daughter commented how much she loved the flavor on it’s own too!
I couldn’t let the kids have all the fun!
This time I got dressed up too… when my little one saw that I had a leprechaun hat on she declared this the “BEST PARTY EVER!”.

Well, since everyone is Irish on St Patrick’s Day I generally make corned Beef and Cabbage with boiled potatoes and wear a bit of green!
We have movie night every Friday, nothing like this though. It looks like so much fun we might have to borrow some ideas 😉 .

Okay, that is just too much fun! I’m 3/4 Irish and we always did lots of green stuff too. Now that I’m the mom, I make sure the kids area ll in the goofiest green outfits and decorations I can find

We really don’t celebrate st. paddy days but we can still enjoy a movie night with treat like these. Looks like you had so much fun.
