Temecula is a a really unique town with a lot to do!
I recently attended a day of fun in this great city! Our tour began at the Temecula Visitors Center. This visitors center is so beautiful and is a visually enhanced, interactive visitors center. The staff is amazing. They will help you book your room for the night and make sure you get reservations at the best restaurants in the area. The art work and history in and around the building was captivating. I highly recommend that you start your visit there to take advantage of their vast knowledge.
The Temecula Olive Oil Company was the first stop for us after leaving the visitors center. I immediately was captivated by the sprawling vines and beautiful wrap around porch of the shop.
This isn’t just a shop that sells olive oil. They grow the olives and make a huge array of beautiful and tasty products.
It was really amazing to see all the different types and flavors of olive oil, spread, sea salts, balsamic vinegars and much more that were available. There were endless options and a lot of really neat flavors. These types of tours are always exciting for my palate!
The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were just amazing. Truly some of the best I have ever had. The simple combination of olive oil and vinegar is just delicious.
And to show you a little peek behind the scenes this is what a tour looks like… we are all taking tons of pictures!
Pennypickle’s Workshop (Temecula Children’s Museum) is a must stop destination to add to your list. The shop was full of whimsical gadgets and gizmos. Everything about this workshop encouraged little minds to invent, discover, and explore. They have online specials all the time so be sure to look for those.
Our next stop brought us to the Temecula Lavender Company. When you open the door to this beautiful shop you are greeting with the sweet allure of Lavender.
All things lavender for both the body, bath, and home can be found here. There were even products for cooking with lavender.
I found myself in a little bit of heaven at our next stop…Old Town Sweet Shop.
The fudge was out of this world delicious. And there were enough flavors to enjoy a little everyday for several days!
I love visiting old sweet shops like this that carry the candy of my childhood. It really brings back sweet childhood memories.
Old Town Spice and Tea Merchants is every cooks dream! Herbs and spices, blends and rubs, sea salts and teas lined every inch of this store.
They carry over 250 hand selected, high quality herbs and spices.
Some of the spice blends were very unique, but they were amazing.
Our stop at Old Town Rooter Company was very refreshing! They carry over 100 choices of Root Beer!
It was really hard to choose a soda to enjoy with over 500 sodas in a glass bottle to choose from.
The bottles were as unique as some of the flavors of soda. I wish I could have tried a few more.
Crush & Brew was our next stop where we enjoyed an amazing lunch.
After lunch we made our way to Lorimar Vineyards and Winery. The Lorimar Wine Tasting was an experience which engaged all senses.
Lorimar wines have won several awards for their wines. The wine tasting was exquisite. I am totally a sucker for a good looking bottle and this one caught my eye! I love sunflowers!
We next headed to Wilson Creek Winery and Vineyards. I can’t tell you how beautiful the vineyard was.
It was a gorgeous day and sipping champagne on the patio was both relaxing and exhilarating in the simple elegant setting. They are famous for their almond champagne for a reason… it’s the best around!
Our dinner was a gorgeously set table in the middle of barrels of wine.
The food was superb and quite beautifully arranged.
Of course, we finished off the meal with a delicious dessert.
The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival was our final stop of the evening.
This annual festival features some of the best wine, beer, food, music, entertainment and hot air balloons. It is a fun day for the whole family. Try some of the best wines and beer from California. Taste amazing and new foods. Enjoy music and entertainment for all ages.
Alli from Made With Happy and I did some research learning about all the different wines available.
Watching the hot air balloons fill was something amazing to behold.
The end of the day was certainly wonderful as we watched the magical balloons rise up.
That is fantastic! I can definitely get behind taking in all the beauty – and wine!
I have never seen a hot air balloon in real life. Sounds like you guys had an amazing time.

Those old rustic looking towns like that are just so nice to look at. And it seems like that everywhere you go there are great people who are great to talk to and learn about the area.
I have never been. The shops look so full of all sorts of things I would want to buy and bring home! I love lavender anything.
It’s been a long time since I was in Temecula and it’s funny that I just had an acquaintance call me while she was there tonight! I have never gone to the Visitor’s Center or this great and fun looking tour! Now I’ll have to go back soon.

So much fun. I would be hanging out in that candy store I think. The root beer and food looks delish.
It looks like you had a wonderful time. I would love to visit the root beer shop. Wow, 500 bottles to try is crazy. I love rootbeer almost as much as I love DR Pepper.
I have a dear friend who lives nearby and one day I’d love to walk through the town!!
I’ve never been to this place but it looks like quite the experience. The apples and strawberries at the Sweet Shop have me drooling right now. The hot air balloons are really cool, I’ve had the honor of watching them and it makes you feel like a kid again. Looks like a great time had by all.
