I love that there is a whole month dedicated to preparedness including storm preparedness.
Living in So Cal we have different preparedness needs than other parts of the country but the one thing that is the same is that we all need to be ready. Master Lock products help consumers keep their personal property and important possessions safe and secure in case of severe weather. September is National Preparedness Month in the U.S., and Master Lock is helping consumers prepare with tips and product solutions for keeping their families and belongings safe during a storm or other natural disaster.
Master Lock is serious about preparedness and giving bak. Did you know that Master Lock recently donated 200 Magnum padlocks to a region of eastern Washington where homes were destroyed by wildfires? Pretty cool! They did this because homeowners are using the Master Lock locks with chains to protect generators and other items from looters who are starting to strike the area. Master Lock encourages consumers to support fellow Americans struck by storm disaster by donating to groups who aid in recovery, such as the American Red Cross – another group Master Lock has supported this year.
Master Lock’s Magnum family of locks are some of the toughest and most weather-resistant locks around.
They’re great for locking up sheds or garages or locking down outdoor equipment (using an additional cable/chain) without worrying about theft. The second lock is a resettable combination lock that allows users to change the combination as often as possible and provides access to family and friends easily because they do not need a key.
This is a Master Lock’s Python Adjustable Locking Cables.
It is made up of a rust-resistant lock and vinyl-coated cable for superior weather resistance. Great for locking down bicycles, grills, ATVs, tools, ladders, lawnmowers, and for severe weather preparation.
Since we get earthquakes and rarely flooding we know it’s important to have emergency supplies located outside our home and this is perfect for locking up our storage shed. I like that anyone with the code can open it. When there is an emergency we might not be able to get a key so this is a really smart option to keep our stuff safe and accessible by whoever needs it.
The Master Lock Vault was new to me and I’m so excited to start using it.
The Master Lock Vault is a safe, secure and convenient digital safe deposit box. You can store digital duplicates of passports, wills, tax returns and other critical documents you can’t afford to lose. The Master Lock Vault is free and can be accessed 24 hours a day, via smartphone, tablet or computer, allowing for easy access in any situation. I can think of a ton of ways to use this, but speaking from experience from wildfires we’ve had, being able to view insurance policies from our phone when we can’t get home would make a bad situation a bit better.

That The Master Lock Vault sounds like a must have item. I definitely want one.
The Master Lock Vault is a great idea. You never think you’ll need copies of important documents, until you actually need them!
when people were stealing generators around here, we went out and purchased a master lock and we never had ours stolen..
Once I see the name Master Lock I know that I’m getting a great lock for whatever I need to protect.
This looks great. I bet college students wold just love it.
It is so nice that you can set your own combinations on some MasterLocks. It is great so that you don’t have to worry about remembering a combination!
I hate that it’s necessary to use the padlocks out there to prevent looting, but yay to MasterLock for supplying them. I know I have a bunch of MasterLock products in use.
That Master Lock Vault is a fantastic idea and I need to look into it. I could definitely have used it when we had to evacuate during the Southern California wildfires a few years ago.
I have a few of their products. It’s a must in this day and age sadly.
I have heard of the Master Lock Vault. It’s a great concept for making things easy if something goes terribly wrong with your documents. Knock on wood it’s never needed, but it’s nice to know there’s something in place if it does.
What a great month to have – sometimes I think we don’t prepare until it is to late. Some great looking ideas to keep your belongings safe as well. x
Their lock looks really secure. It’s right that they are advocating on preparedness as people needs this mentality in case of disasters.
I can barely imagine wild fires or earthquakes. Here in Iowa, we deal with tornadoes and awful winters. This year, I’ve read, the winter is supposed to be bad. I plan on stocking up on supplies.
Looks like a very sturdy lock to have in your home. Master has always been a favorite brand of mine.
That’s an awesome lock. I love the brand as well. Quality for sure!
I love Master Lock. It’s the only lock I’ll use. Those things are like Fort Knox.
Master Lock is certainly a part of disaster preparedness. Those locks are tough as nails. Nobody’s getting past them.
I could really use one of these on quite a few of our things! I don’t think anyone is getting through that think!
This looks like a great lock to have, very secure!
It is always great to be prepared. Will check out Master Lock!
So I know this brand and it is definitely well thought of, but I had to take a second to think through the applications of the Master Lock Vault. It seems like a really smart idea for vital documents that could be destroyed in a disaster scenario. That’s pretty clever. I think I should look into this.
I think every lock we have is a Master Lock. Fantastic product, for sure!
The master lock vault is a great idea! We’ve got so many important documents that I’d feel much better knowing nothing would happen to them.
The vault looks like a great product. I’ve used Master Lock for so many things over the years!
Definitely a trusted brand. These locks look super sturdy and strong!
I am a true fan of Master Lock and will continue to be for a very long time. These locks look awesome!
We have been needing to put storage outside on our deck but I argue that it is just asking for trouble. With these powerful locks I wouldnt have to worry 🙂
It’s great to invest in these things as we never know when disaster will strike in our area. The idea of storing personal belongings to the Master Lock Vault is great.
I am always trying to be prepared. I know that my neighbors house was robbed awhile ago and since I have had locks on my gates because I want to protect myself and my son from anyone that may try to come into our house.
Those are some heavy duty locks. I would feel secure using them.
Master has a great reputation for lock security! I use them myself whenever I can.
Master locks is all we ever use. I have never seen the Phython Adjustable locking cables one before which would make a great socking stuffer. Thanks for sharing.
See why I need a husband? Ughhh. Necessary stuff that would rather not deal with, but your post will be a big help to get prepared
It’s really important to keep all the essentials on hand. You never know what could happen. Just because something hasn’t happened doesn’t mean it won’t!
I cannot tell you how many Master Locks I have had over the years! Great post!
I bought each of the kids Master locks for their bikes. Better safe than sorry!
These are some really great locks. Will have to get some of these.
MasterLocks are great. I love the ones with the code on them, because it is so convenient for anyone who needs to be able to use it to just do the code. Much better than trying to keep track of little keys.
We have one on hand for our generator. During Hurricane season your generator can easily wander off if not protected.
This is such an industrial lock….my husband could use this on his tool box at work for sure!
I NEED this in my life. This is perfect for when my neighbors need to get into my shed and I’m not home. They can just use the code.
I definitely need to get prepared. We are in the middle of remodeling and have changed out all of our doors and now I need new locks.
Master Lock has always been the brand we go to when needing a lock. Tried and True, they help me protect my belongings.
I never would have thought about having locks to secure items after a disaster. When I was reading the title, I was trying to understand the connection between the disasters and locks. That is great advice and something that everyone should have around. Even in the midwest, a tornado could hit and we have a lot of items that could be stolen from our garage, including a generator outside.
Love the master lock brand! We have several master lock locks on our outside storage!
We love Master Lock products! I’m going to have to get a couple of those python locks!
We ONLY use MasterLock. Great, trusted product. That Vault looks pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing.
I actually need a bike lock! This was such a timely post for me. Thanks!
I’ve been talking with my husband about getting a vault. Glad to know you’re liking yours. I’ve been doing research on the best ones and this one definitely stands out.
Sounds like a great item to have. Will have to get one!
