Being as productive as possible is a huge deal for me. Like many women, I’m a mom first, but I also have a job outside the home. To be my best in both of these areas I need to get a good night sleep. For a couple years now I’ve had a hard time staying asleep. I’m normally tired enough to fall asleep, but I inevitably wake up before it’s morning and I have a hard time falling back to sleep.

On those nights I spend the next day in a fog! I think it’s time to stop faking it. I’m not getting enough sleep every night like I need to and I think my mattress is to blame. My poor mattress has lost its spunk and I blame all the sleepless nights I’ve spent on the fact that it’s getting older and it needs to be replaced. If you look at the picture below you will also notice that it dips a bit in the center. Another reason it’s time to get a new one.

With so many choices I was curious about other options and how to buy a mattress that will help me get the rest I really need. Aside from the new mattress, I was interested in other ways to get a good nights rest. I like that there is a guide for how to get better sleep that has some great recommendations!

May is better sleep month with the Better Sleep Council and Memorial Day is a great time to go buy a new mattress. I’ve already purchased a fluffy mattress cover and it’s helped me get more sleep than I used to, but I think it’s time to get a new mattress just because of the age of my current mattress and because decent sleep isn’t enough. I want the best sleep I can get and a new mattress that is the perfect soft/firm combo that I love would really help!

  • After buying a new mattress because ours was just too old, we both started waking with horrible lower back pain.
Feeling like fools for spending so much money on a good mattress we decided to shop around and check consumer reports and feedback. Literally hours of research and we still don’t know which mattress to buy out of feer that we’ll just be unhappy with another purchase.
    What can we do?
I wish I had my OLD mattress back!

May I suggest to anyone buying a new mattress?
Don’t throw your old one away until your sure you like your new one!

  • Our mattress is getting to the age where we need a new one. I’m looking forward to a new one that is much softer!

  • I have carpel tunnel and sleep on my arms because my mattress is so old and thin my arms gives me more cushion, but I believe a new thicker mattress would help alot with my comfort please and thank you

  • I sure could use a better nights sleep! I have noticed a pain in my neck when I wake up, and I need to get more rest.

  • I would like a firmer mattress. I think our mattress is too soft and my back ache sometimes.

  • a new mattress would be great for my husband’s grandma. She is 90 years old and the middle of her mattress sags.

  • Ooh what a sweet giveaway! I usually sleep pretty good, but not for long enough. That is my trouble spot! I would love a better and more comfy bed!

  • OMG a new mattress would mean that I actually get to sleep IN the bed and not on the couch.. I have Fibro and Lupus and the pain is too much to handle and my bed makes it worse so off to the couch I go for most nights; haven’t slept in our bed in years it just makes matter worse… Thanks for sharing, soo need to look into a new mattress

  • We need a new mattress set desperately. I haven’t slept well in over a year. I love the furniture in that photo above.

  • What a cool bedroom set! I love my bed set so much and am content over here~!

  • Ugh, we have had the same mattress for ten years and there is a hump in the middle between hubby and I. Not to mention, I sleep really hot and have a feeling our mattress has something to do with it.

  • Those first few nights of sleep on a brand new mattress are one of the best things ever. Thanks for sharing this giveaway.

  • I used to toss and turn like crazy. Could never sleep well. Then we got a new mattress and I sleep amazingly well now! It is surprising what the right mattress can do!

  • right now I am 8 months pregnant, I can never sleep comfortably. A new mattress would give me a chance to relax after my baby is born

  • I just moved into a new house, and the movers somehow lost my mattress! A new one would help tremendously!

  • This is a great giveaway! We just got a new mattress, so a lot of my sleep troubles are long gone. 🙂

  • We need a new mattress SO bad, but my hubby and I don’t agree. I like a firm mattress and he wants one that is softer.

  • Okay, so my recent sleeping troubles don’t really have anything to do with our mattress, but with our newborn. We just bought a new mattress a few months ago, and it was the best thing ever! It really makes a world of difference having a great mattress.

  • We are in desperate need of new mattresses for our master and guest bedrooms. I’m hoping we can invest for our master bedroom sometime this year.

  • A good mattress is so important. We love ours, but it makes sleeping away from home even harder!

  • I have been thinking about getting a new mattress a lot lately. My back is starting to hurt more- not sure if it is because I am aging or because my mattress is. Maybe both?

  • We’ve never had a new mattress. Ours is a hand me down, so it’s saggy and lumpy. A new mattress would be so comfy.

  • I’ve been waking up dizzy every night for a few weeks, I don’t think it has anything to do w/the mattress though. 🙂 I’d love a new one so we could pass ours down to our teen (who’s ready for a queen size instead of her twin). A new mattress would help with that instantly. 🙂

  • A new mattress would help me because I’m always tossing and turning in my sleep. I get night sweats pretty frequently too.

  • We could really use a new mattress. When we moved our new house our queen wouldn’t fit in the bedroom so we’re using the old full-size mattress from our guest room.

  • I used to have the hardest time finding a comfortable spot so I was always tossing and turning. Finally finding the right mattress made a world of difference!

  • My husband and I have been through like 3 mattresses in our 12 years of being married. I feel like that is a LOT. We should really do our research the next time we are buying one. We always buy good brands but they still don’t seem to last like they are suppose to.

  • I love the chairs in your room! And I definitely agree that a good mattress is so important for a good night’s sleep.
