Give Experiences To Your Child As A Gift

This year we are focusing our gifts on experiences and products that go beyond expectations. This post is in partnership with Sylvan Learning.

I’ve been making my list of gifts I’m giving this year and checking it twice… and I am so excited about all the giving we are doing during the holidays. I really put in extra effort to go big this year and it is going to pay off with big smiles!

My main focus this year is to gift more experiences and fewer things… and I love when you can combine the two into the ultimate gift, like I plan to do this year.

My go-to experiential gift this year is easily found at Sylvan Learning.

When searching for the perfect gift for my kids this holiday season, I’m thinking outside of the box and saying goodbye to toys they will play with once and hello to “experiential” gifts. These gifts combine adventure and education and will expand their horizons outside of the classroom, like Sylvan EDGE does.

Emmy LOVED taking STEM classes earlier this year at Sylvan Learning and it really created a deep interest in engineering. It is a topic that she wants to learn more about and that is something that she might never have realized had she not had this great experience.

This is also a wonderful way for your kids to get an EDGE on the competition, all while having fun.

For a gift that encompasses science, technology, engineering, AND math, look no further than Sylvan Learning. A package of Sylvan EDGE classes will empower kids to lay the groundwork for future success and have fun while doing it. The combination of fun and academic mastery is unique, whether it’s designing a video game from scratch after school, programming a LEGO robot on Saturdays, or engineering seriously cool superstructures, your child will be learning something new every time.

This also makes a great gift because you can personalize the classes you gift so that they are the perfect fit for the recipient.

I also think gifting a STEM Camp would be a great addition to your gift package. Camps are offered during winter, spring and summer breaks, so they are really good for keeping your child engaged in learning and growing throughout the year, all while having fun! Plus, it stretches the gift and gives them something to look forward to way after the holidays are over. With classes, camps and so much more… Sylvan Learning has the best experiential gifts for all the kids on your shopping list this year!

Have you started shopping yet?

  • I actually just finished all my Christmas shopping with the exception of one or two people, over the weekend. I am one of those that will go for the deals but not quite as bad as Black Friday. I would have to think about doing the Sylvan learning because I really do want my kiddo to have that edge he needs to do good in school.

  • I love gifting experiences. I think creating memories is so much more fun than accumulating more stuff. Sylvan looks like it would be a great addition to any child’s education.

  • STEM is such an important but fun resource for kids that I think gifting a camp sounds like a perfect idea! I love the idea of giving an experience instead of a traditional gift.

  • I love the gift of experiences … we’ve done that a few different years and it was so great. My daughter would love STEM camp!

  • I love the idea of experiences. The kids really don’t enjoy all the toys half as much as the experience of doing something.

  • I will have to look into Sylvan EDGE classes for my Son. I think it is important to give our kids any advantage we can.

  • The kids have so much and get so much. I truly love giving the kids experiences because they make so many great memories to take with you!

  • We’ve been giving experiences for years now, to everyone, not just the kids. Concert tickets are the most requested item!

  • Gifting an experience sounds like a fabulous idea. I didn’t know Sylvan Learning offered these types of classes.
