Family keepsakes to pass down to future generations are better than gold. They hold special memories and give comfort as nothing else can.

We absolutely LOVE eBay and have been buying and selling there for almost 20 years! It is our go-to place to shop for everyday necessities and for hard to find items. I can’t even begin to tell you how often we have had eBay save the day when we needed something special. Today I am sharing the first of a series of posts featuring eBay and how it has made our lives better and easier! Thank you to our amazing friends at eBay for sponsoring this post.

A million years ago, when I was a child (slight exaggeration, ha!) I was given a stuffed animal by some very special friends of mine. For years I thought it was a baby gorilla. I named this sweet guy Courageous because he gave me courage. He went everywhere with me and when I went away to college he was the first thing I packed. It sounds so silly to say this out loud, but it is true and there were many nights growing up that having this “security item” really gave me that extra boost of courage.

Then when Maddie was born I dusted him off and he became her “special lovey”. She took him everywhere with her and loved him just as much as I did. Then, Ashley was born. You know where I’m going with this right? Maddie passed him down to Ash. Then Emmy was born, and the cycle continued.

But the thing is, both Maddie and Ash want their own to pass down to their kids… and that makes me SO HAPPY! I love this tradition, but because I got mine 20 years ago, I knew I couldn’t just go to the store and buy one.

I let this sit in my mind for a little while and then one day I was shopping on eBay and it was like a light bulb seriously went off. Why had I not looked there immediately? I did a quick search and I couldn’t find any Couragouses for sale. I was so bummed. I didn’t give up though. I looked again after doing more research and learning that Courageous was actually a Confetti Yeti! You guys, that moment made my head spin. I questioned so much in my life in that split second and then I came back around and accepted that my baby monkey was really a yeti!

With this knowledge, I set up an alert on eBay for “confetti yeti” and not even a week later I got an email saying someone had listed one. I jumped on the computer. Hit “buy it now” and this sweet guy was in our arms super fast!

Emmy was so excited to open the package and surprise her sisters with him. If you are wondering, his name is Courageous too. Not two, but too. I asked Emmy why that name, and she said: “because that is what he looks like”. I slowly backed away from more questions on that.

I know so many of us are already thinking about Christmas and other holiday presents and eBay is perfect for that! Maybe this year you can add a sentimental keepsake gift too… or if you are like me and my search for Courageous, you can find that special treasure year-round on eBay!

Do you have a special treasure that has been passed down?
