Do you ever feel like you need something specific to happen before you will declare that the day is good? I used to do that too. Now I decide that every day is a good day.
I long since learned that I can’t control everything… but I can control my thoughts and my attitude. Attitude and thoughts are the number one way that you can control your future. Those with a good attitude, who let happy thoughts fill their minds and push out negative ones set the stage for good things to come their way.
Although no one is guaranteed anything in life we are all guaranteed right now. We get to do whatever we want with it. Right now you can choose to be happy. You can focus on all of your sorrows or all of your joys. You can look at life as a challenge you can conquer or you can give up. I hope you never give up.
Having a good attitude is the first step to not only a happy day but a happy life. It’s not always easy to be happy. It’s not always easy to push out feelings of anxiety and doubt. But ones you decide that you are done with letting negativity into your life it becomes second nature to always look on the bright side of life.
Seriously try it. Smile more and watch the opportunities come your way! Take it one day at a time. Decide today is a good day to have a good day!
It’s definitely easier to be positive on certain days, but it makes a huge difference in the day when your mind isn’t wallowing in misery!
So true. It takes real effort but so worth it!
I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m a firm believer that we are responsible for our moods.
I think we are too Candace!
Thank you for this reminder. I often get caught up in the day to day madness and forget to just be thankful for the day itself.
Glad you enjoyed the reminder 🙂
I am trying my hardest!!! Lots of challenges lately, but darn trying to stay positive!!! lol
You can do it Jennifer!
Great advice! I’m definitely going to try it.
Thanks Ellen!
I agree that your attitude makes such a difference. I’m always telling my kids to smile!!
I tell mine the same thing! 🙂
What great advice! Many times I just have to stop, breathe and readjust my thinking. Too often I am down for silly little reasons and know that any day that my family is alive and breathing is a good day!
I am the same way Tammy! Sometimes when I start to feel down I can’t even pinpoint the reason and then I remind myself that if there isn’t even a good reason I better cheer up real quick!
it’s a lot healthier to choose happiness and decide to look for the silver lining even on the darkest clouds!! it’s just harder. I try to make the choice each day to be happier
You are right Brett, is can be difficult to do, but the more I do it the easier it’s been getting!
This was needed today. It has been a very stressful and difficult week thus far. And I need something to help me get through it even though I can’t control what happens, I need to not be overwhelmed and discouraged by it all.
I’m so sorry to hear this Amber. I hope it gets better real quick! Hang in there!
I used to be a worry wart and finally did what you are talking about and decided. It took awhile to stop doubting myself and break the cycle of worry, but eventually I did and now for years I have been a complete optimist. Things in my life are not any better or worse but my attitude is great!
That is so awesome Jenny! I consider myself a recovering worry wart!
I wake up every day and choose to be happy. I always try to be positive. Life’s too short to be otherwise.
Life is too short! You are so right Rachael!
It is so easy to get caught up in all the bad things happening and ignore the good in the world. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Pam!
Great post, thank you for the reminder that we are not in control, God is and there are some things we cannot change.
You got it Mama!
Today IS a good day. Even the things that didn’t go right still ended up turning out okay. Tomorrow is another day and should be fabulous!
Exactly Nicole!
You are right! Days are much worse when you wake up mad before you even get out of the bed. Even though things may be bad, they could always be much worse.
So true Bobby! It helps to keep things in perspective!
I always decide this, when things don’t go right or when I’m not feeling the greatest. I say this. Hehe. Good mantra.
Me too Nancy! Some days I end up saying it a lot thought 🙂
What a great reminder. I get stressed and don’t smile enough.
Thanks Melissa!
You’re right! It’s all about your mindset and attitude! Think positive!
Think positive… totally my motto Kristin… that and dreaming about your awesome vacation to Florida!
It can be a challenge to always have a good day, but a positive mindset definitely helps. It also helps me to look at my family and realize how lucky I am!
I do the same Liza! Just looking at my family makes me realize how great of a life I really have!
“I can control my attitude” This is what I try to remember when I feel like I don’t have control of my circumstances. Good advice.
