We are in full on back to school prep mode around our home and I love it! I’m not thrilled with the kids heading back to school because I love having them home all the time, but there are definitely some perks….like awesome new shoes! Emmy is our in house fashion expert… especially when it comes to back to school style.
The brighter the better, and if it flashes light it is a sure winner in her book. I totally agree, but then again I am a child of the 80’s, so that should come as no surprise to anyone.
Emmy is really tough on her shoes and she is also constantly on the go so we go for quality and fit with her. We want her to wear shoes that give her all the support she needs to keep up with her happy go lucky life. This is all well and good, but I also have limited time to make her perfect back to school shoes a reality.

Even when I am shopping online, I always include the kids.
I’ve found that a good start to the school year makes all the difference, and including the kids in the preparation is a big part of that success! Emmy and I went on the computer together to shop on Zappos. As soon she saw these shoes she was sold! Pun totally intended!
We received Stride Rite’s new light-up Leepz kids shoes quickly after ordering, and the second they got to us, Emmy did what most kids do…she tested them out of course! I so wanted to tell her to keep them sparkling new for the first day of school, but I couldn’t interrupt her joy. She said they even made her run faster! Oh to be a kid again…

I love those shoes! I can’t wait to show the kids they’re gonna love them too. I agree about including the kids with school preparation. They picked out their outfits, backpacks, school supplies and has a blast. I’m sure it made them feel important and special to be able to have input. My favorite part of back to school time is the shopping. I love seeing all the sales and deals.

She is adorable. I remember getting new shoes for school. For my kids, I dont always get them new shoes in time for back to school. I typically just replace them as they need them. I usually let them puck out their shoes too.

My daughter has been talking about some new tennis shoes that light up that she saw on tv. Maybe these are them? She is such a little shoe girl, lol.

Too cute! I remember having light up shoes as a kid. Bad idea for playing hide and seek but totally fun. I have seen a lot of the roller skate shoes here in the Netherlands but not so much of the light up ones.
