You will be presented with three options when you click the link and will be asked to select the StartUp, GrowBig, or GoGeek plan. The StartUp plan is the plan that I have been talking about that is only $3.95/mo. For new bloggers, this is what I recommend. As your site and traffic grows, you can always upgrade at any time. But for now, there is no reason to spend the extra money.
The form will now pull up that asks for your domain name. It is time to pick a domain name (your own dot come). Enter your preferred domain in this box. If it is taken, you will be notified on the next screen and will be able to pick another name. Click the “Proceed” button when you are ready to move on.
Now is time to enter your information and payment information. Enter this and continue scrolling down the page.
Make sure to select the 12-month plan…this is how you will be able to get the hosting for $3.95/mo. If you select month to month, you are charged an upfront fee that just isn’t worth it. I recommend un-checking the domain privacy box if you are looking for the best price. SG Site Scanner is also not needed in my opinion.
If everything is filled out correctly above, the total should be $62.35 (or $47.40 if you already have a domain). Now simply check the confirmation box (terms of service) and press the Pay Now button.
That is it! I guess you are officially a blog owner!!
You will then instantly receive an email from SiteGround with your website setup information. When you log in, you will be given the option to automatically have WordPress installed on your new site. Answer yes to this, and you will officially have a WordPress blog set up!
