We are so close to summer, I know that we have to get through spring first, but I’ve got summer on my mind.

Fresh fruits, ice cold drinks and lots of fun in the sun. Bring on summer! Until then we are celebrating the coming warm days with a fun new drink, a Fresh Grapefruit Slush featuring Sweet Scarletts!

Sweet Scarletts are the reddest, sweetest and tastiest grapefruit you’ve ever enjoyed. What’s even sweeter is that grapefruit are a great source of vitamin C, making ’em a healthy and tasty treat.

I’ve been eating these whole as a snack and Emmy has too… but she had the idea to make them into a slush and I ran with it!

Anything that takes minutes to make and has only two ingredients is my kind of snack! I see us drinking a lot of these in the coming days, that is if I don’t eat all the grapefruits first!

These are so easy to make.

You just peel one Sweet Scarletts grapefruit and section it and then add it to a high speed blender or food processor. Then add a couple handfuls of ice. After that chop or blend for just as long as it takes to create a slush. After that it’s ready to pour into your favorite glass and enjoy! It took me about three minutes from start to finish. I think this would also make an awesome topping for acai bowls. I’m ready to try that next!

I’m sure this could be make into an adult drink too with just a slash of your favorite liquor, but we prefer ours without.

One thing it definitely doesn’t need is any sugar.

These grapefruits are already perfectly sweet. They have the perfect combo of sweet and sour, which is why they are so popular. I remember when I was younger my grandma would load on the sugar on top of a sliced grapefruit because they can be so sour, I was so (happily) surprised by the sweetness in these. You have to taste them to believe it!
