Spring came so quickly this year.

I never realize it’s happening until we spring forward, and then I’m shocked that winter is almost over. It seriously sneaks up on me each and every year. I love the longer days and warmer weather. It wakes me up from my winter slumber, and I’m ready to start spending more time outdoors. It also means that summer dresses are right around the corner, or if you live in Southern California like I do, it means it’s time to start wearing them now because the warm spring weather starts even earlier here.

To celebrate the beginning of spring, I’ve added some simple tips to my beauty routine.

  1. This is the perfect time to stick to a simple makeup routine. During the spring, I keep my makeup easy and relaxed. A little powder, blush, mascara and lip color. I’ve also been adding a little brighter shades to my lip gloss and lipstick collections. The new spring lip colors were just released so be sure to buy yourself a new one. Even a simple “pop” of lip color like this can make all your other makeup seem fresh and exciting.
  2. If you are not already wearing a daily sunblock, now is the perfect time. As the days get longer you are exposed to more sunlight. Protect your skin.
  3. Drink more water. I know this is said all the time, but oh my… being properly hydrated makes so much of a difference!
  4. As the weather changes from raining, to dry and cooler temperatures, to warmer air, our skin needs extra care with exfoliation and deeper hydration. Use an exfoliating cleanser and a heavier lotion at night. Stick to a lighter weight facial lotion during the day.
  5. This year I have something extra special to celebrate for spring, a new smile from Invisalign® clear aligners. It’s my biggest beauty tip. Seriously, nothing compares to a beautiful smile… and the added confidence that it gives you, so I’ve been enjoying the improvements I’ve been seeing with treatment.

As I’ve shared before, I had traditional metal braces and after that I didn’t wear my retainer, and I eventually developed some crowding in my bottom teeth that really bothered me.

I was embarrassed to smile as big as I wanted to, and that is going to be a thing of the past very soon as my Invisalign treatment is making my teeth nice and straight!

Invisalign treatment, also known as clear braces because they are nearly invisible and removable appliances or aligners, is used to straighten teeth—alone for comprehensive orthodontic treatment or as a key component of restorative or cosmetic dental work. Invisalign clear aligners is appropriate for treating adults and teens. In fact, Ashley and I are both using them at the same time, which is pretty awesome. We share tips and tricks (like never forget to take our aligners out when it’s time to eat), and we go to appointments together. Since I would be taking Ashley anyway, it’s nice to be able to do something to better myself too.

I am so excited about how my smile is already looking, and I really love how easy it has been for it to become a part of my lifestyle and the results have been amazing! I can’t wait to share them with you all soon. I really believe that Invisalign clear aligners is sheer brilliance, and these 5 reasons illustrate it perfectly!

  • These are some awesome tips. I really have to pay attention to how much water I’m drinking. It’s already getting really hot!

  • These are great tips. I need to start making sure that I wear sunscreen and I need to drink more water.

  • I’ve got the drinking lots of water thing down, but I need to remember my sunscreen, especially since I have super sensitive skin and often get red/rashy when in the sun too long. Thanks for this reminder!

  • I always forget to get enough water in. It’s so important to stay hydrated, though. Our bodies are over 75% water.

  • I’m seriously thinking about getting Invisialign. I never wore my retainers long enough and I need to fix my bottoms.

    • Diana… that is exactly what happened to me. It was mostly my bottoms that needed help. I am so happy I finally did it!

  • These are really great tips! I think invisalign is such an amazing option. I remember as a kid needing braces but refusing, I wish this was around then!

  • I really need to drink more water. It gets hot here and I don’t want to get dehydrated.

  • No matter what the season, the key is to stay hydrated and to keep your skin hydrated as well. Thanks for all the tips. I keep my make up simple too! I can’t wait to plan so many outdoor activities with the kids!

  • I have heard great things about invisalign. We did the metal braces for my oldest. Hoping we can get invisalign for my younger boy.

  • I have known several people who have used Invisalign and loved it! It is something to really look at when braces are needed!

  • I too love this time of year. The longer days are so nice, nothing like getting outdoors after a long day at work. I have been wanting to check out the Invisaline for my oldest son. He is worried about them being affordable on his budget. I have seen them do such great things and they look so much better then the braces I had as a kid – I do appreciate my smile though.

  • These are great spring time beauty tips. My skin and hair have been so dry this year.

  • I would love to have Invisalign. I have a gap and I have alway wanted to close it. I never got braces I never liked the look but these look so much better.

  • I also try to wear minimal makeup when it’s warmer outside. I hate the thought of having my face literally melt off and for my makeup to show. Talk about the “unnatural” look! Lol

  • I like using a BB cream with a sunscreen in spring. So light and fresh!

We’re looking into Invisalign for one of my boys.

  • Thanks for sharing your beauty tips. Will really be useful this spring. Thanks a lot!

  • I also did the same after my braces when I was younger. My bottom teeth are also now a little jumbled. I would love to give Invisalign a try!

  • I’m so thankful that I have really straight teeth! However my sister has the complete opposite teeth and she used Invisalign and liked it considering what it was!

  • These are some great beauty tips not just for spring, but in general to make sure you look great anytime. I usually drink a lot of water so that helps me a lot during any season. Invisalign is something new for me, but sounds like a great product to try out.

  • These are great tips. I am outside a lot with my kids because they are playing sports, and I need to remember the sunscreen every time and to make sure we are all drinking enough water.
