Welcome to part 6 of our family travel series to Las Vegas! If you missed parts one, two, three, four and five be sure to check them out!
What would a trip to Vegas be without seeing a couple shows? Still, we had to be a bit picky when we picked the shows we were going to see. The Toddler like most 2 year olds still has a pretty small attention span.
Here are some tips for seeing shows with little ones:
- Chose the show time prudently. Make sure you don’t get tickets during nap time or bed time.
- Make sure you bring a sippy cup of water. They will get thirsty and you will have to “obey the thirst”!
- Limit fluid. We are still in the middle of potty training so we didn’t encourage huge amounts of drinking before and during the show.
- Make sure little tummies are well fed.
- Bring a lollipop. I save this for only the most needed moments… this was one of these. The toddler is a big talker and loves to be busy. This worked perfectly.
- Buy tickets so that you are on the end of an aisle. Even better is you can be close to the exit, you know, just in case you need to make a quick escape before a full on 2 year old temper tantrum. You might want to have the quickest route out without disturbing everyone else and a close to the exit seat would help!
{Pardon the totally blurry picture! We had to sneak a quick picture before the show started and we only got this one!}
“It did not disappoint! I’m truly not sure who had a better time, the girls or my husband and I… It was that good.”
The girls were all thrilled to see the show! We had heard of Mac King for years and always wanted to see his show! You know how the best shows have jokes that are totally meant for the adults… maybe even a bit edgy… but totally lost on the kids. Mac is the KING of that. We were all cracking up! The actual magic part of the show was so cool. I’m still wondering how he pulled some of it off! There is one really quick part of the show that might startle little kids, but the hosts were awesome and warned me ahead of time so I was ready for it. It wasn’t scary just unexpected {trying not to ruin the surprise}. But, The Toddler thought it was hilarious so all of my preparation for this 10-second spot was absolutely not needed! We are still talking about the show. This needs to be at the top of your list of shows to see. This show is 100% kid friendly even for a 2-year-old!
PS. There is even an “in theater” bar! This is perfect for buying Shirley Temples for little ones or grown-up drinks for the adults! In total disclosure, I’m the one in our party that orders Shirley Temples… just saying!
Thank you to the PR rep who supplied us tickets in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are mine.
Sounds like a lot of fun to me. I’m happy to read your review. I love this kind of corny show and hope to see it sometime soon.
Laughing is a very important part of life!
