We were thrilled to be invited back to the Mob Attraction again this summer. When we left after our first visit we wished we had had more time to enjoy it further. Last time we had planned out 2 hours for the experience thinking that would be plenty of of time to see it all, but it wasn’t. With little ones in tow you can see “enough” in two hours, but if you are history buffs and your kids are a bit older I recommend planning for a longer visit.
Much of the attraction was familiar to us from our last visit, but there were quite a few changes that made it fresh and worth going back to. My older two really enjoyed stopping and reading all of the old newspaper articles and quick facts about The Mob and The Police interactions.
I love this spot. Knowing that my Great Grandma came to America through Ellis Island, well, this always gives me the chills. The recreation is done really well and sets the stage for all that is to come. It makes understanding where the players in The Mob came from and their motivation for doing what they did.
I have this habit of comparing all experiences to Disneyland. I mean, they do it right. They know how to cover all aspects from lighting to sets and everything in between… the Mob Attraction does it right. It has my seal of approval.
Awesome scenes, right?
The interaction with the actors makes history come to life. The dialog was totally different than last time. I’m not saying anymore, because if I did I’d have to….
My Irish heritage squealed when we were speaking to the “Irish” Police Officer. The girls loved this part…
The part where you are time traveling back to old Vegas is a trip. The vast dessert where “who knows how many people” are buried gets you thinking…
Totally new part… with top notch actors in the video I might add…
Real artifacts from the era when The Mob ruled Las Vegas… fascinating and terrifying.
I love this art work. My littlest one did too. There are benches throughout the exhibit for you to sit and take it all in. This was one of my favorite areas. There is so much to take in and this is the perfect room to think it all through.
I absolutely recommend visiting the Mob Attraction, Las Vegas. It’s educational and entertaining and makes history come to life.
Tips: There are unpleasant aspects to The Mob and it’s history in our society, however this exhibit presents it in a very nonthreatening manner and it is completely appropriate for families with children. As I eluded to earlier, you could easily spend 3+ hours exploring the whole exhibit so plan ahead. It’s totally air conditioned and makes a perfect excursion for hot summer days, or cool winter ones too! There are a couple photo ops and they are way fun and make great keepsakes… there is also a gift shop with some cool souvenirs!
Thank you again to the Mob Attraction for providing us with this experience.
