Remember how I told you I can’t cook? Well it was a totally truthful statement. I can’t cook and I don’t like to either… but I love to bake. I’ve seen these pretty little puppies {no idea why I used that term} popping up everywhere and I knew I had to make them. Rainbow Cupcakes!!!! I used the instructions from Life {Sweet} Life . I started reading her blog when she was going to adopt and now I keep reading it because of all the pretty things she posts about. Anyhow, I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to make these and I finally found it. On Sunday I helped throw a “sprinkle” for my little sister. Her favorite toy when she was little was Care Bears so we threw her a Care Bear party to celebrate the upcoming birth of my niece. Care Bears= rainbows, Right? So here they are. The only problem I had was with the comments I received. They varied from “how rasta of you” to “is this a gay rights statement”? Don’t people remember the Care Bears sliding down rainbows? Hello, they lived on clouds for goodness sakes! Oh gosh! But it really was a really fun party! That was Sunday. Saturday was all about the mall. I dragged my mom along with me and I kept pointing out all you can get and do at the mall for free. This was an impromptu trip so I just threw together a few freebies and off we went. Once we were there we set off shopping. I spent $.57 on it all. Here is what I got
- 2 packs of stickers at Hallmark. I received a customer appreciation certificate for $2. This looked like the reward certificates but it was just a bonus because my local store no longer is participating in the gold crown program.
- 1 free country chic lotion from Bath and Body Works. This was a facebook thing over the weekend.
- 1 free Victoria’s secret undies. This was a home mailer .
- 1 pair of pants for the baby from Gymboree. This was my rewards certificate. Honestly I haven’t really shopped at Gymboree lately, but all of my family uses my rewards # when they shop so I get the points from their shopping trips!
- {not pictured} 1 veggie dog on a stick, a sample of lemonade and a sample of funnel cake sticks. This was via a promo card that I got when I spent $20 last December. There were tons of freebies on it that are good this year.
Yep, it was a fun weekend. How was yours?
Those look SOOOO good. I cant cook either, but I can bake fairly well. I love love love love love the website startcooking.com with Kathy Maiser. She is amazing, and I have made her fajitas and they were soooooo good. I love that her receipes are so easy for someone like me with ZERO skills.
I used to the VS $10 purchase coupon for free hand sanitizer.
Not only were the cupcakes so adorable to look at, but they were delicious!
I'm Heather's mom and I have to say that even though I am really not a fan of going to the mall, it is quite fun with Heather! When I am with her, I can get all kinds of cool stuff without spending lots of money!
