I have a soft spot in my heart for tall, leafy green trees and I’ve definitely shared this love with my girls. They too love to visit mountain towns like I do. I am also a huge history buff so when we find a place to vacation in that has both lush green trees and historic stories to tell, I’m in heaven. We are really excited to be staying at the Montage Deer Valley as their guest and equally happy to be sharing this Park City family vacation guide with you!
This adventure started (not so) bright and early on Saturday morning. At 6:15 our plane took off from San Diego and we landed in Salt Lake City Utah at around 9 am local time. It was a quick hour and a half flight! We got into our rental car and we pulled into the Montage Deer Valley 50 minutes later. The drive to the resort was beautiful!
When we checked in they offered the girls stuffed animals and a little later the girls were surprised in our room with warm chocolate chip cookies, water and a bowl of delicious fruit!
Our suite was just that… very sweet!
It has a one bedroom and a common area room with a pull out sofa bed, full kitchen, washer and dryer, 2 walk in closets and a luxurious master bath and guest half bath.
The two balconies are my favorite part of our room!
Emmy and I sat out there and enjoyed the clean air and sounds of nature! She was entertained by her new furry friends she was gifted at check-in. Later that night we had a moose visit us. It was majestic and a real treat for us! It was right below our balcony and then meandered all over the grassy area. It was too dark for pictures but a total memory was made.
After we settled into our room we headed down to Park City.
The drive from Montage Deer Valley to Main Street takes about 10 minutes. They offer a shuttle too if you would prefer not to have to worry about driving and parking. If you do drive there is public parking on the streets and parking garages that are free to park in.
We were only there a couple hours but we managed to pack in lunch (and then dinner when we drove back down) ice cream, shopping and a little history. We even found the famous Banksy art work! It’s on an alley off Main Street.
This is a tradition for us too… Emmy falls asleep at dinner on the first night of everywhere we vacation. I have pictures of her in Turks & Caicos, Las Vegas, Ohio, Florida and more of her passed out at the table. Normally when she gets tired she asks if we can go back to our room to sleep… but on these nights she will be eating and talking one moment and then the next completely asleep!
As soon as we got back to the hotel she rebounded and we had s’mores. Each night from 8-9 pm they have a s’more buffet with homemade marshmallows and all the fixings to make your own! They also have hot chocolate for you to enjoy. (I blurred this photo as I do not know the other guests and I value privacy).
I can’t get enough of these views! Pete, Ash and Emmy are off on a hike right now. There are a bunch of different trails accessible from the hotel and when they get back we are going to discover more fun things to do… zip-lining, a roller coaster, a haunted ghost tour and some nature walks are all in the plans for today!
Oh my, your daughter Emmy is just like me! I eat, and then I fall asleep! Anyway, that hotel where you stayed in is a really nice one. I love the balcony and the coziness of the place. I’d probably sleep off my vacation if I were there.
Eileen the last night we came back to the room early just to relax and enjoy it. It was so relaxing! And you got it exactly right, she eats, then sleeps!
Everything looks great. I laughed at your last line… oh, we’ve got some ziplining, ghost hunting, etc. to do today, lolol 🙂
Haha! Right? You know, just every day things! We didn’t make it ziplining, but we did go on a ghost tour on Main St. So fun!
Our favorite things to do on vacation is try out new foods and take in any fun going on around us. We have two very energetic boys so anywhere there is a free area for them to run around in, such as a park works out great.
How lovely! I have always wanted to visit Utah. My favorite things to do on vacation is exploring the city or town I am in, plus trying out different kinds of food and restaurants.
What a fun vacation! Looks like you had a blast!
Going out to eat and not cooking is my favorite activity to do with my family on vacation. I am so excited to not think about food.
I love views like that! I would be just like you and just soaking up every moment of it! So lovely! And I love the quality of your pictures too! Very nice!
I love all the pictures and the hotel looks like a great place to stay. I haven’t been to Utah in many years. Need to get back there for a visit.
That looks like my kind of vacation. I bet it was a blast!
What a place! I’ve never been to Utah, but this looks incredible. I think your suite having a little kitchen is a huge plus. They furnished so nicely, too. I’d love to visit Montage Deer Valley someday!
This looks like it was an amazing place to stay as well as a fantastic vacation. I love the room and the s’more buffet which sound like so much fun. Thanks for sharing.
The suite looked awesome. I love vacation and hotels. My favorite thing to do on vacation is pamper myself with good food, room service, and soa treatments.
What a fun time, and that hotel looks awesome. A washer and dryer? Cool! When we went to the Creation Museum last year, we did have a kitchen area in our room, which was very convenient, as was the pull out sofa bed. But not near as luxurious as this. Wow.
How gorgeous is that room! Sounds like everyone had a fantastic time!
That hotel looks incredible! You guys look likeyou had an a really great time. I was in Utah for work and loved it!
