Our New Favorite App For The Whole Family- WEYV

It’s almost summer road trip time! Or for us, that means hours of flights, long drives to and from the airport, plus a traditional road trip or two thrown in for good measure! This summer travel season is going to be different for us though because we have a new App we love that is taking the place of bulky reading material and all of our music apps. Soon it will also be replacing our TV and movie viewing apps too.

Actually, it’s so much more than that too. I’ve been using it left and right and we aren’t even traveling right now. I’m so excited to introduce you to our friends and the sponsor of this post, WEYV.

WEYV is an all-new way to listen to music, read your favorite magazine and soon listen to podcasts and watch videos. Even better, it is for the whole family and provides valuable ways to connect with each other through our devices.

We’ve only been using WEYV for a little while now and I wanted to jump in right away and share the features we are already in love with. I normally would wait and write a formal post about how we used something long-term, but this is just too awesome for me to wait another moment. I had to share right away!

After only a couple days of use, here is how each member of the family is using WEYV.

Pete and I- We are both listening to our favorite music playlists. For me, this is all about the 80’s. From 80’s Smash Hits to 80’s Classic Hits… I haven’t changed the “channel” yet. I have it on as I’m working, in the car and when I go for a walk. This already replaced the satellite music I listen to in the car and the app that plays music to workout with.

As much as I love finding my favorite music from the decades that are listed with WEYV, Pete goes straight for the Genres options. Right now, he is enjoying “Best of Classic Rock.” That is just the start though. We have both been reading magazines, People and Money for me and Sports Illustrated and Time for Pete. So far, we have read them while we had internet access, but once we get back to traveling on a plane in a month, we will be downloading them so we can read them offline too!

Maddie- Music, and magazines all the time, is what Maddie has been doing with WEYV. She was so excited to see Entertainment Weekly and People. We stopped buying magazines because we just don’t have the time to read them except on planes, but then they took up valuable space, so with WEYV, magazines are a go again!

Ash and Emmy- They have been sharing station suggestions and Emmy has been telling her facts she has learned about science subjects from reading some of the kid’s magazines on WEYV. The “For Kids” magazine section might be what I’m most excited about when using WEYV. Emmy is so excited to read magazine after magazine and share everything she is learning.

When allowing my kids to use Apps, I always look for COPPA-compliant Apps that adhere to all online child protection law. WEYV is, and the default setting for a child profile ensures that the child will not be exposed to explicit content. Here is how to add a child to your group.

This is also going to be a great tool for parents whose kids no longer want to read anything that is not on their devices. It’s like the best of both worlds. They are reading real magazines, just on platform kids are more comfortable with.

This is just a few days in using WEYV and there is so much more to it. Here are some of the features we are going to start using and I’ll be back sharing more about them after we’ve tried them all out too.

We are going to create our own playlists and stations. These will be perfect for family road trips and for individual listening.

Since we are using WEYV as a family, I will be inviting each of them to our group. Since we can have up to 25 people in a group/subscription, Emmy wants to invite her cousins too. Everyone will have their own profile but we will all be part of the same group (like a family plan).

To get ready for our upcoming travels, we will be sharing songs, playlists, and stations with each other (you can do this by tapping the 3 dots to the right and selecting “share”). We are also going to be collaborating on playlists!

Of course, we will also be taking the content offline by downloading magazines and music. Oh, and one thing we are already doing is listening to music while reading magazines. I love that you can use them together at the same time.

I LOVE even more that you all can try the WEYV family plan for free (no credit card required) for two months with my coupon code: LOVELYLIFE18. Just sign-up at WEYV.com and enter the code, then download the app.

WEYV is available for iOS and Android devices and via Web Player (U.S. residents only) so you can start using WEYV right now!

  • I am so intrigued by this App, I would love to get my favorite music and favorite magazines. We don’t get magazines anymore so this would be a great way to enjoy our old favorites. If we go on a road trip this is amazing.

  • I am very picky about what apps I choose to download, but Weyv looks like it definitely needs a permanent spot on my devices. Definitely an app the whole family would love here!

  • Sounds so cool! I love reading magazines and books while I’m working out so this might make reading magazines a bit easier. I can’t wait to try it!

  • This sounds like a really fun app! My stepkids don’t have devices when they’re with us (much to there chagrin, they have devices at their moms and we just have different styles of parenting) so we have real magazines. But I’m keeping this in mind for when they’re older, or when their mom starts sending devices with them.

  • I’ve never heard of this app, but it looks really convenient! I have about 4 different apps on my phone for music and reading and podcasts, so an all in one app would be way better.

  • This app sounds like the perfect app for my family. Ask them to bring it to Canada okay? Right now I have a at least 3 apps to do the same as what WEYV will do in one!
