Updated! Last week we had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of the Legoland Hotel in Carlsbad California! We were so excited to have been invited to stay at the hotel and share this review with you all!
If you are local to So Cal this would make a really awesome overnight vacation! If you are out of the area, be sure to add this to your must stay at hotel list!
When we first arrived at the new Legoland Hotel we were greeted with this cool Lego dragon!
The kids marveled at the details! If you have a Lego fan {and who doesn’t} in your family they will shriek with joy when they see this friendly guy! He is guarding the dial to the Lego pipe that is pouring out rainbow Legos!
One of our absolute favorite parts of the hotel is the elevator.
Legoland Hotel thought of everything to wow the kids {and parents, just being honest :-)} You get inside and it’s all decorated like a disco… and then the doors close and it BECOMES A DISCO ELEVATOR! Like, with a strobe light, disco music, and dimmed lights! The Toddler freaked out and started doing disco moves I’ve never seen before! It was priceless and just added even more fun to our stay!
I was in mean mom mode {or so I’m told} when the kids all saw the awesome pool just to be told that we didn’t pack our bathing suits. Next time, next time!
The Toddler was still in full disco mode from the elevator as she posed with the wall decor. The whole hotel is done up… a kids paradise!
I also love all of the sensory fun that they added. Kids love to touch. It increases their understanding of the world and Legoland Hotel even thought to include and encourage this. The Lego frames are at their level! All throughout the hotel, there are reminders that this is a kid friendly place. This hotel was made to thrill kids at each and every turn!
Okay now pretend that we all dried our hair and got more sleep {we were up late partying and playing on the toys in the lobby} than we did. Imagine I have full makeup on and my eyes are not puffy. Now that we have that out of the way how amazing is it to see the characters walking throughout the hotel? We loved when they would stop and take a picture with us.
Every room comes with a tub of Legos to play with. Although the hotel is geared towards those under 12, my almost 13-year-old {next week! eek,} had just as much fun as the younger ones. The thing with Legos and Legoland {and Hotel} is that they are timeless and ageless. Who doesn’t want to play and build???
This is us waiting for the grand opening ceremony! I will be writing a whole post on the restaurants {there are 3 of them!} But I wanted to show this awesome little spot for catching a quick lunch right by the pool!
Everywhere you turn there are Lego figures! We stopped counting because there were so many of them. By an informal family vote, these 2 were our favorites!
Oh, My word! The rooms… the rooms! They are what dreams are made of! We stayed in the pirate room. It was perfect! There are 250 rooms featuring standard, premium, and suites! The standard room can accommodate up to 5 occupants with a Queen sized bed and a bunk bed that has a trundle pull out! Our room had 2 TV’s, one in the “parents room” and one in the “kids area”. The kid’s room TV only plays kids shows! We loved the free Wi-fi and how spacious the rooms were. The kids especially loved the treasure hunt that they went on first thing when we got in the room! The kids hunt for clues and then it unlocks a treasure chest with little toys for them! The Toddler kept asking me when we could go back to the hotel room when we were at Legoland. She absolutely loved it!
Rooms have 3 different themes:
Adventure:
Pirate:
I have to show you all the bathroom. Even the bathroom is decorated and if you are potty training there is a built-in training seat!
I was a major shutterbug on this trip. So much so that I have at least 3 more posts full of pictures for you all… 1 of the restaurant, the Legoland Park and the Water park! Check back later this week for even more pictures from our sneak peek visit!
Thanks again to Legoland for inviting us and providing us with a complimentary overnight stay, meals, and entertainment. We had a blast and we can’t wait to come back again!
What is your favorite family-friendly hotel?
Made a surprise trip to Legoland on Xmas day and although we didn’t stay at the hotel, I now feel like I have the flavor. It looks like you and the fam had a great time, Heather!
Happy New Year to you!
I’m so glad you got to spend the day at Legoland Melissa! Hope your little guy enjoyed it! Happy New Year To You too!
