This has been a very busy week.
Two kids back in school and one more to go! We’ve done all the back to school shopping for clothes, back packs and paper and pencils but to me one of the most important back to school supplies is their mobile phones.
None of us leave home without phones which means that we are on them all the time… and that opens us up to some security threats. This year we are starting off better! I just discovered ESET Mobility Security and I tested it out on my husbands Note 2!
It took seconds to download and we were good to go!
ESET Mobility Security is an application that protects your Android smartphone and tablet.
I think this product is pretty brilliant. We’ve had something like this on our computers for a long time, but nothing like it for our mobile devises. With ESET Mobile Security you can explore the web with confidence while being protected by ESET’s Antivirus technology that scans files, websites and emails 24/7. Anti-Phishing shields your identity and personal data against theft (so important with the kids), while SMS & Call Filter helps you manage your time by making it easy to define who can contact you and when. All installed apps are scanned and organized with Apps Audit to show permission levels and what information on your phone or tablet they can access. In addition, proactive Anti-Theft increases the chances of recovering your lost or stolen device by enabling it to email you notifications, transmit its current location so you can track it on my.eset.com, sound an alarm, or even erase the contents remotely.
I plan to add this to all of our Android devices since you can install ESET on up to 5 devices on the same Google Play account, so you easily and economically protect all of your family devices.
It’s nice to know that we have that protection when downloading files and emails.
That always worried me before and this gives me total peace of mind. You can also scan your device with a touch of a button. Knowing that there were no threats found was very nice to see.
ESET also offers protection from these common threats:
- Phishing: an attempt to steal info like usernames, passwords, credit cards (and sometimes, indirectly, money) by masquerading in an electronic communication as a trustworthy source.
- Malware: “Malicious software” is software intended to damage or disable devices; gather sensitive information or gain access to your data.
- Ransomware: a type of malicious software (malware) designed to block access to a computer system until a sum of money is paid
How do you protect your mobile devices?
