Keep The Family Entertained On Road Trips

We are back from our first road trip of the season! Arizona was beautiful and the 6+ hour drive to get there flew by because we had snacks and awesome entertainment from our sponsor, WEYV!

We have been waiting months for this trip… especially Emmy! She was so excited to see her cousin CJ! What she wasn’t excited about was a 6+ hour drive to get there.

I promised her that this time would be different. This road trip I was bringing the mother of all entertainment with us, the WEYV app!

I shared before about WEYV… the all-new way to listen to music, read your favorite magazine and soon listen to podcasts and watch videos. Even better, it is for the whole family and provides valuable ways to connect with each other through our devices. We are able to share music suggestions, magazine articles. and my favorite…create playlists together!

Before we left for our road trip, I created a playlist called Africa. The first song was Africa so I just kept it to be the name of the playlist. Looking back, I should have called it something more appropriate for the trip like Arizona, but I’m not the most creative person. Ha! I later learned that you can change the name of your playlist. Just tap and hold on the 3 dots to the right of your playlist. Then select “edit playlist” and then “playlist settings.” There you can change the name.

The girls all added their own song picks to the playlist after I invited them to be collaborators. It worked out perfectly. The songs were also downloaded so we didn’t have to worry about going through spots without cell service.

On the way out to Arizona, we listened to the playlist and again as we were cruising around Arizona with cousin CJ in the car.

This was also our first time in Sedona.

It was so gorgeous. The colors didn’t look real. Deep reds, that contrasted with the blue sky to create such dramatic sights!

The girls want to go for some big hikes next time we visit. This time it was just a day trip, and it felt like we just scratched the surface of all there is to see and do there.

To get up to see these great views we took a “mellow” off-road tour. It was anything but mellow, but still a ton of fun! We jumped over huge rocks, or at least that is what it felt like. In reality, we went full speed over and through dips and bounced from side to side. My heart rate was through the roof so I put on my favorite Enya songs that I had downloaded in WEYV and that did the trick. Everyone else loved the rocky road… I guess I’m just an adventure lightweight!

After that, we explored the town of Sedona. There are a lot of shops and some really great restaurants. But really, all we cared about was spending time with family.

We did make some candles, bought some homemade candy, and did some shopping. There are the cutest shops in Sedona. I especially loved the small batch skin care products that I found in a little shop off the beaten path. Sedona was totally our type of place and very vegan/vegetarian-friendly too!

Our time in Arizona flew by way too fast and we had such a great time! It was about 110 in Phoenix and in the 80’s in Sedona so we couldn’t have asked for better early summer weather. We heard that monsoon season started just after we left and it brought showers right away. That would have been great to experience from inside our hotel room, but not so great for sightseeing, so remember that when you are planning your own Arizona adventure!

Be sure to watch our video above to see our whole adventure and exactly why we love WEYV and how to use it for road trips and beyond!

I’m so excited to share that you all can try the WEYV family plan for free (no credit card required) for two months with my coupon code: LOVELYLIFE18. Just sign-up at WEYV.com and enter the code, then download the app.

WEYV is available for iOS and Android devices and via Web Player (U.S. residents only) so you can start using WEYV right now!
