Let’s talk about Halloween Time at Disneyland… I can not get enough pumpkins. I love taking the kids pictures with them and I love to eat them. Thank goodness they are a vegetable! As we are packing for our trip to experience Halloween at Disneyland for 2013, I thought I would share a few things that are on our to-do list and what we are most looking forward to!
The carved pumpkins. Oh my! They are everywhere and each one leaves you thinking “how in the world did they do this”! We stop and enjoy them all. Disney hires some REALLY talented people and it shows especially this time of year. PS. Did you know that you can preserve a cut pumpkin for longer by dunking it in bleach and water? A teaspoon of bleach to a gallon or so of water will do the trick. Make sure it’s completely cleaned out first.
The Food! It’s a whole experience really. All of your favorite eateries in Disneyland and California Adventure have transformed many of their items to reflect the Halloween theme. We splurge on calories when we are on vacation and this is no exception. Prepare yourself for some fun and delicious food!
The Pumpkin Beignets at Cafe Orleans are top on my list. I LOVE the regular ones and I can’t wait to gobble these up!
Fried Apple Burritos. I don’t think I really need to say any more on this one. WOW!
Pumpkin Cheesecake. Can you see all the spices in there? If you are a foodie like me, you totally have to try this! Seriously, you need to plan a visit during Halloween time even for the food alone… let the kids go on the rides while you enjoy some yummy treats. If you feel especially generous you can share with them too!
Seriously, Halloween at Disneyland is something that you will enjoy and talk about for years to come. It’s that magical. I am a total Disneyland fan and I love it any way I can get it, but there is something extra special about holidays at the happiest place on earth and Halloween is one of the best times to visit. I would consider also adding on tickets to Mickey’s Halloween Party… especially if you are visiting with kids. Be sure to bring your camera. There are tons of awesome opportunities to take some really festive pictures. Everyone is in the spirit so enjoy yourself. Per Disney “The season begins Sept. 13 and goes through Oct. 31, with the parks decked out for spooky fun. New this year: Special Halloween décor and overlay at Mad T Party in Disney California Adventure park”!
Special thanks to Disneyland for providing us with a complimentary visit to experience all the wonderfulness of Halloween at the “happiest place on earth”!
