It’s not always easy to see errors in our own writing, especially spelling and grammar mistakes. Thankfully there is a professional editing tool for your blog called Grammarly. Grammarly is the editing tool that we love and use to help us improve the quality of our blog posts.
I have something to share that I haven’t really talked about before, that might shock you.
I didn’t learn to read at grade level until I was in the 5th grade. Before that, I could get by to some extent, but my parents were warned over and over again that I would never be literate.
We didn’t know it right then, but I had learning disabilities which made it impossible for me to sound out words. And unfortunately for me, this was how I was being taught to read. Eventually, I memorized words and that made all the difference. Using that skill I became excellent at reading.
This learning disability also caused me to be a terrible speller, and my memorization trick might have worked for reading, but it didn’t for spelling.
Even though I still do not have strong spelling skills, most people wouldn’t know this because I use a tool that checks for spelling errors and a lot of other mistakes like grammar and punctuation.
The good thing is that most bloggers don’t have the same background that I do. Most learned to read on time, learned decent spelling skills, and I’m sure they have better grammar too.
So when I hear someone say that they are worried about following their dreams of being a blogger because they might not be a perfect speller or they worry that their grammar might not be strong enough, I always say that this is not a reason to not blog. All they need to do is use the same tool I do- Grammarly.
Why Use Grammarly?
Grammarly acts like a spell checker, highlighting your errors in red and offering suggestions for corrections.
However, Grammarly goes beyond just spelling and grammar. It also helps you eliminate other grammatical errors and helps you find the right words to express yourself too.
Not only that, but Grammarly also helps you with your sentence structures, conciseness in your thoughts, clarity-focused sentence rewrites, tone adjustments, fluency, and even vocabulary enhancement.
I’ve found that you can even use these features to help with writer’s block as well. Just start writing and let Grammarly’s suggestions help you get your creative juices flowing.
For those that use contributors, the Grammarly Plagiarism Checker is another invaluable feature that you can use to make sure that you are publishing original content.
Grammarly isn’t just for your blog posts.
You can also use it for social media and your email. I also use it for other documents I am working on to make sure that there are no errors in those too.
If you are not feeling confident in your writing skills or just want to increase the quality of your blog posts, I can’t recommend Grammarly enough. They even have a free plan to try it out, but I can almost guarantee you will love it so much you will want to upgrade from the free one once you see how great it is.
