I think we really have found paradise here at our travel partner, Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort

Even if I wrote nothing here and just showed you the pictures, I think you could see how amazing this resort and area are.

We wake up at 5am no matter what country we are in or what time zone. So today Pete woke me up as he and Ash went to the local CrossFit Box, and then I promptly fell back to sleep. That never happens. Never. I think it had to do with the fact that he opened the door to the balcony and listening to the waves crash against the beach lulled me back to sleep.

When I finally woke up at 6am, I caught the sun rising and I had a cup of coffee while I watched it.

It was soon time for a day of water fun!

FlowRider

We started off with an hour at the FlowRider!

This is one of those memory-making moments they will never forget! Emmy was so excited…

I wasn’t sure how this would work out with her still being tiny. She is also fearless in a good/bad way, depending on the day… but it was a wonderful experience. Our instructor went on with her until she had the hang of it.

Which took like 2 minutes. She was a natural.

Ashley loved jumping on the waves and sliding around. It is a lot more difficult than it looks, but also really easy once you get the hang of it. Of course, this is coming from the person who took the pictures and didn’t ride. That would be me… ha! At least that is what they told me. I’m kicking myself for not doing it too!

The real surprise of the day was with Maddie.

She is more of a book reader than adventure seeker. I was shocked, like fall out of my chair surprised, when she decided that she was not only going to do it, but wanted to try riding it standing up. She got up there and fell a couple times but never gave up. She had the BEST TIME! For the rest of the day, she was telling me how much she loved it and now she wants to take surfing lessons. My SoCal heart is bursting with pride. I think I will finally be getting my surfer girl! Thankfully, I have quite a few family members that surf so we will be calling them soon!

Emmy, of course, tried every single inch of the FlowRider and we have some pretty awesome footage of her… and Pete too! For never surfing, he did really well. He said it kinda reminded him of his skateboarding days growing up. This is one of the best water activities that can be adapted to pretty much everyone in the family. Next time I’m all over it!

cabana

After we dried off a bit, we were taken to our cabana for the day. They have a few different ones to choose from at both the adult only pool and family pool. We chose the one with the more tropical feel closer to the boardwalk so we could relax and watch the girls and still see the pool. It was heaven! It was stocked with waters, fresh towels, a TV, and a cabana attendant that was so friendly. They anticipate your every need and make you feel like you are the only guest at the resort. Pretty much everyone here does that. The guests are all so happy and the people working here make all of your cares just melt away!

family

Of course, the girls didn’t hang out in the cabana nearly as much as Pete and I did. They were too busy splashing in the pool and going back and forth under the water fall!

family pool

Soon it was time to get some work done. Pete and I both looked at each other as we took out our laptops and just started smiling. I mean this is the best office ever, isn’t it?! It doesn’t feel like work when you can see and hear the ocean so close by.

Work never seems to end, but for this afternoon I closed my computer and headed down to the spa for a massage. The heated table and ocean air lulled me into such a relaxed state that when I was done it took me a couple moments to remember where I was. It shocked me for a second that I was that confused, but then I realized I was actually just THAT relaxed, which doesn’t happen often (cough cough, 3 kids).

The St. Somewhere Spa is gorgeous and I have so much to share about it later. When you stay here, they should make it mandatory to experience it. It’s one of my favorites and I’ve been to a lot of spas. It is very luxurious, but not pretentious. A very relaxing beachy vibe flows through the whole place and with everyone that works here.

Before we knew it, the sun was starting to set and my sweet cousin and family drove almost two hours to meet us. We had a wonderful Italian dinner on the board walk and caught up with them.

sunset

As they drove home, Emmy and I caught another concert right outside the resort.  With the warm breeze to our backs, the ocean in front of us, and maybe a cone or two of ice cream, we enjoyed it with a couple hundred other people. The community of people that are drawn to Hollywood Beach are fun loving and mellow. We love this place so much!

With our changes in latitude and changes in attitude all from another great Florida day, it was time to head to bed!
