Quick week night meals are what we are all after these days. After the afternoon rush we need something we can get on the table quickly… and that tastes really good. Not always an easy thing to do. Add in a big boost of protein and these are a five minute tacos are sure to please everyone around your table! Thank you to Beyond Meat for partnering with me on this post.
I’m falling more and more in love with really quick meals.
I thought it was just back to school time that was zapping my spare time, but here it is almost November and I’m still feeling the rush. Thankfully I’m adding more recipes to my quick meal collection and that is making all the difference!
My latest one is a recipe for five minute tacos!
This is another one of my recipes that I feel bad even calling a recipe. It is so easy to make that it shouldn’t be associated with the word recipe. Seriously!
Five minute tacos:
- Beyond Meat- Beyond Beef
- Taco Shells
- Taco Spices
- Lemons and limes (optional)
- Add Beyond Beef and diced tomatoes to a pan. Heat on medium heat until hot.
- Add taco seasoning to the Beyond Beef.
- Add Beyond Beef mixture to the taco shell.
- Top with lettuce and sliced avocado.
Since we are already devoted Beyond Meat eaters I invited my parents over for dinner as a taste test. My dad is a devote meat eater and my mom is a self described picky eater so I thought they would be the perfect people to try it out on. I didn’t mention that I was using Beyond Meat, just that we were having tacos for dinner.
They seemed to really enjoy the meal… my dad even had seconds! So I thought the time was right to share that the tacos had 100% Plant Protein!
Here is what my parents thought… two thumbs up!!!
They both said the texture was exactly what they would expect from traditional beef and the flavor too! Success!
Back in the kitchen I found Ashley helping herself to a taco too!
Protein is really important to her diet due to all the exercising/training she does, and we are always looking for new non-meat ways for her to get more. Beyond Meat has become a great way for her to get the amount that she needs.
Plant protein consumption is at a tipping point with elite athletes like Maggie Vessey as early adopters. These athletes intuitively understand the benefits of plant-based proteins, and so they’ve partnered with Beyond Meat to effectively communicate–by example–the benefits to other families and their children. *Beyond Meat’s athlete partners hail from the NBA, WNBA, MLB, AVP, and Pro Surfing.
Beyond Meat is planting The Future of Protein, using protein from plants to create delicious products ranging from chicken strips & tenders to meatballs to beef crumbles. We like to take the chicken strips and chop them up, mix them with mayo and salt/pepper and top toasted bread with it for the best chicken salad sandwich.
Beyond Meat’s 100% plant-based products enable families to continue to eat what they love—like beef nachos, chili, pasta Bolognese, chicken fajitas, and meatball subs—without the health and other downsides of animal protein.
What does the Future of Protein look like? The meat case will become the protein case. Plant protein will appear on the menus of largest restaurant chains and in schools nationwide. I can’t wait for this to happen! Our family is all vegetarian (with one vegan) and we firmly believe in plant proteins being the proteins of the future!
Have you tried Beyond Meat?
I’m amazed at how similar they seem to be! And I love tacos. My husband and I rarely agree on great food we have very different tastes but we both love tacos. This would probably be a great way for us to try out beyond beef! I’ll have to check it out! Thanks for sharing!
Those tacos look absolutely tasty. As a teacher, I am always looking for quick meals to make my family when I get home late. It’s amazing all the meat free options on the market now!
I love tacos. And this one can be done in 5 ? Omg thanks for sharing
I’ve seen beyond meat a couple of times online but I haven’t had the chance to try it yet. The reviews seem to be the same, it doesn’t taste like fake meat at all. That alone makes me want to try it!
i had never even heard of beyond meat – and it looks like your family was enjoying it as well! 🙂
These look yummy. My son is a huge taco fan, I will have to make these for him.
I haven’t seen this brand before but I am up for trying it. Our oldest daughter is flirting with vegetarianism right now and it would be a good time to incorporate the flavor into our diets. This is something I will definitely be on the look out to find.
I have never seen this but it looks so quick and easy to fix. I love easy meals that I can fix as a busy mom. We love tacos around here tool
I love Beyond Beef products and I am absolutely loving this recipe! Tacos are my fave and to make them in five minutes makes it even better! Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe…will give it a try!
What a great way to switch up your dinner like this. I love when I can find new ways to get protein into our dinner menu. I have not tried the Beyond Meat before sounds delicious.
I love tacos and this looks like a quick, hassle-free and healthy option. My Mum is allergic to certain animal proteins so she makes sure she sticks to plant proteins. I’ll be sure to tell her about this.
We love tacos and I can’t believe this only took you 5 minutes. I’ll have to check if we have Beyond Meat over here.
Wow only 5 minutes! These look so delicious and easy to make! Going to give this a try this weekend.
I am tending to someone post surgery and right now five minute meals are a total lifesaver! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
We love Tacos at home & the food looks absolutely delicious enough & the pictures have already made me so hungry for some tacos right away. I just love that you did it in 5mins, that sounds amazing.
I’ve never tried to taste it, it looks so tempting and yummy!
I wonder if I could fool my family. They are picky. Of course, if my husband saw the package he probably wouldn’t even give it a try.
Oooo nothing better than a super simple meal to prepare. These tacos sound great 🙂
I love the idea of quick but healthy and delicious meals. I actually have some ground turkey now that I can use to make tacos – thanks for this great tip! 😀
