I’m sure you heard the big news… Pixar Pier, in Disney California Adventure Park, is now open! We had the pleasure of attending a media preview so that we could share why everyone in the family is going to love Pixar Pier. I hope you enjoy this full review and I apologize in advance if you get hungry after seeing the pictures of all of the new treats available!

Here is all of the inside scoop…

There are four different neighborhoods inside of Pixar Pier, each with their own Pixar theme. As you walk through the pier, you will definitely notice that every so often, you’ll walk inside of a different movie, so to speak. We loved that it felt like those movies all came alive and we were a part of the action!

Incredibles Park

When you enter Pixar Pier, you will be in Incredibles Park, where you will find the Incredicoaster and everything based off of The Incredibles and The Incredibles 2 movies, including The Incredicoaster!

The Incredicoaster

The girls all love the new Incredicoaster! You might recognize this rollercoaster as what used to be called California Screamin’ before Pixar Pier. This coaster will take you on a high-speed adventure to find Jack-Jack, who is the youngest of The Incredible family. Ash just loves the new music, sound effects, and character figures that were added to the ride. The girls always try to make sure that they’re ready for the camera when the picture is taken on the ride. They even plan out their facial expressions ahead of time and sometimes even coordinate with each other! Did you know that The Incredicoaster is the fastest attraction at the Disneyland Resort? It’s true, I guess that’s why the girls like it so much!

Jack-Jack’s Cookie Num Nums

Em is one of the biggest cookie fans that I’ve ever met! Right when we walked into Incredible’s Park, I saw that she was already eyeing Jack-Jack’s Cookie Num Nums stand and wondering how she could convince me to get her 10 of each cookie!

We ended up getting one of each kind of cookie to try. The cookies that we tried were a Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num (a warm chocolate chunk cookie), an Incredicookie (a gluten friendly shortbread cookie with blackberry jam), and a Jack-Jack shortbread cookie (a shortbread cookie with orange frosting and topped with a chocolate Jack-Jack).

When the Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num came out, I knew that nobody else was going to sample that one because Emmy was going to eat it all! She was shocked by how yummy it looked and smelled. After she tried a bite, she declared it “The Best Cookie Ever” then went back to eating the cookie. She didn’t end up eating the whole thing, but she tried and just got too full before she could finish!

Toy Story Boardwalk

Keep walking, and you will enter Toy Story Boardwalk. In Toy Story Boardwalk, you’ll find Toy Story Mania! which is a favorite in our family! I don’t ride too many rides, but I always like to ride Toy Story Mania!

Toy Story Mania!

This is one ride that our whole family likes to ride together!

The teens like to compete and see who can end the ride with more points since this is a 4-D interactive target game. They love a little bit of friendly competition!

Mr. Potato Head

If you asked Em, she would tell you that no trip to Pixar Pier could possibly be complete without a chat with Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story outside of Toy Story Mania! She loves to hear what he has to say!

Pixar Promenade

Just past Toy Story Boardwalk is Pixar Promenade. Em loves this neighborhood! In this neighborhood, you can ride the Pixar Round-A-Pal and play the Games of Pixar!

The Games of Pixar

The Games of Pixar are carnival-style games that are fun for the entire family. These games are  Heimlich’s Candy Corn Toss,  Bullseye Stallion Stampede,  La Luna Star Catcher, and WALL•E Space Race! You can even win fun Pixar themed prizes specific to each game! Em just loved playing Heimlich’s Candy Corn Toss! If you’re also a fan of sweets like Em, you’ll be happy to know that Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff will be opening up this summer in Pixar Promenade.

Luxo Ball Water Fountain

If you have a kid (or a kid at heart), you’ll be happy to know that there is an interactive Toy Story themed Luxo Ball water fountain that lets you push on it, which makes it spin in any direction you want. We all worked together to push the ball in the direction that we wanted, and in turn, we left the Luxo ball water fountain feeling refreshed from the water.

Pixar Pal-A-Round

Pixar Pal-A-Round is the new name for the Ferris wheel which was previously Mickey’s Fun Wheel. This is one of Ash’s favorite rides, but we all love to ride in a gondola together and take in the views of the park.

Inside Out Headquarters

If you go past Pixar Promenade, you will find yourself right in Inside Out Headquarters. In 2019,  this neighborhood will have a new ride inspired by the movie. WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR THIS and can’t wait to create some core memories there. <— Did you catch that?

Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats

Maddie loved this stand! She ordered a Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait which came with nondairy Lemon Soft-serve with Blue Raspberry Swirl. Since Maddie is vegan, she was so excited to see that she could eat this delicious treat. She gave it two big thumbs up!

Popcorn

It’s pretty much a silent tradition that every Disney day requires popcorn. The whole family loves this snack, and honestly, who doesn’t? We were all thrilled to see a popcorn stand inside of Pixar Pier! Pixar Pier might just be our favorite spot to enjoy some popcorn! While we all ate, we walked over to Incredible’s Park to watch the Incredicoaster take off! It’s the perfect way to stay entertained while eating a snack!

Lamplight Lounge

At the end of the day, Pete and I snuck away and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Lamplight Lounge. The girls ate somewhere else in the parks, so we will definitely be bringing them with us to eat at Lamplight Lounge next time we visit Pixar Pier!

We started out our meal with some drinks. Look at all the non-alcoholic mocktails! The with alcohol options took up multiple pages and everyone else was enjoying those and loving them!

Pete and I both ordered the Infinity Fizz. There is real dry ice at the base so it was beyond fizzy and so delicious. We will definitely be ordering these for the girls when we come back. They are the perfect mix of refreshing + sweet, and totally fun to drink!

Here is the menu:

As an appetizer, we enjoyed Potato Skins.

For our main course, we each ate an Impossible burger with a side of french fries. I didn’t even see it on the menu, but our waitress was so excited when we said we were vegetarian and vegan and happily shared that we could order these.

Our meal was so delicious that we didn’t even save room for dessert, but next time we will. There is only one dessert on the menu, so you know it is going to be good. The dessert is donuts with dipping sauce! The donuts are soft and fresh baked and served with warm chocolate and raspberry dipping sauce.

A couple notes: There is a full-service restaurant with beautiful water views of Pixar Pier and a bar area where you can order appetizers. You can’t, however, order the donuts there. Lamplight Lounge is where Ariel’s used to be and if you remember and loved the lobster nachos there, you will be happy to know they are still available. For the little ones, there is a kids menu available with grilled chicken tenders, a PB and J roll, a burger slider, and Pasta with cheese sauce. These all come with hummus, fresh veggies, and fruit.

We had such a great time at Pixar Pier and can’t wait to go back!
