StraightTalk_LOGOWhen I was a teen and it was time to get my teeth straightened there was only one option. Braces.

After 4 years of wearing them, my teeth looked better but it wasn't a fun experience. Now that my older two are ready for teeth straightening I'm so happy that there are more choices out there!

Pete and I have been reading and learning all about Invisalign results. Especially from the point of use by a teen and tween.

Along with cost and results, we also are concerned about giving the girls confidence to live life to the fullest while improving their smile. Invisalign Teen clear aligners straighten teeth without traditional wires and brackets which is a really big deal!

One of the strongest factors that is having us lean towards Invisalign Teen is that they are clear aligners that are removable and can straighten teeth without a mouth full of metal and all the disruption and sacrifice that comes with it. I remember breaking brackets off and it was super painful.

Another factor for us is that the girls can keep on playing sports.

With Invisalign they can!  Teens can play sports without fear of injury and continue cheerleading, musical instruments, acting and singing without interference. Because it's removable, brushing and flossing is easy and no food restrictions to worry about either. When I had braces I remember how hard it was to clean my teeth and I had to spend a lot of time cleaning them.

I also felt like I was constantly at the orthodontist when I had braces.

With 3 kids and work I just don't have time be taking the girls to the orthodontist all the time for regular and emergency visits. With Invisalign Teen there are no emergency orthodontist visits for broken wires and brackets and it requires fewer appointments since several aligner sets are provided in advance. Invisalign compare to braces

I think there are some common misconceptions about Invisalign Teen.

I know that I was confused about them too. The biggest one is if Invisalign was just as effective as traditional wire and bracket braces?

Invisalign Teen was developed with leading orthodontists to correct the most common teeth straightening issues – from severe cases to more minor, cosmetic adjustments. Invisalign Teen’s clear aligners are removable and can straighten teeth without a mouth full of metal and all the disruption and sacrifice that comes with it. With Invisalign, teens look better and feel more confident than they ever could in traditional braces. The Invisalign Smile Assessment is another place to get more info.

Another misconception is about cost comparisons.

Invisalign Teen costs about the same as braces.

Invisalign Teen is covered by most dental insurance policies just like traditional braces — up to 50% of the cost may be covered by insurance. Flexible Spending Health Savings Accounts (HSA's) can be used for Invisalign, making money go farther with pre-tax dollars.
