I’ve partnered with the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® Program from Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. to share how I help my teens manage back-to-school stress.

Back-to-school time is one of my favorite times of the year. I seriously get giddy thinking about it! I love that it represents a fresh new start and so much opportunity to learn new things.

For teens, it can be a stressful period, too. From a heavy course load to a jam-packed schedule, we take some very easy, but super important steps to help Maddie and Ashley manage any stress they are feeling. And, we help them prevent it, too!

Some of the most important things we do to help them manage stress is to encourage them to take breaks, some fresh air, and spend time with loved ones as much as possible.

I also keep a bottle of AVEENO® Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion in both of the girls’ rooms so that they can easily apply the lotion throughout the day as they come and go and anytime they start to feel a little stress sneaking into their day.

The lavender scent is designed to calm and relax as you massage it into your skin while moisturizing for a full 24 hours. Plus, it smells so good!

I am sharing the rest of my tips for stress relief for teens over at HealthyEssentials.com. Hop on over to read more! There is also a great Sweeps + Gift with Purchase offer there, too!

  • So relevant! I teach high school students and they are far too stressed. I am always trying to think of ways to help them and I often encourage them to meditate. Usually they laugh at me at first but the ones who give it a go realize how helpful it actually is. Love it❤️

  • I have never heard of this but the name Aveeno is a well known one. This would be awesome for tweens also, I could see my granddaughter sharing with me after bath and relaxing

  • I am so happy that you are raising awareness about this important issue. Aveeno is such an awesome brand as well. I use it and love it and my girls use it as well! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  • Aveeno is one of my favorite brands. As a person that has high levels of stress with new routines , I know that as a teen I struggled during this time of the year. I really like your tips for this age. We need to help this age cope with stress and changes.

  • Great tips, I know kids mostly teens need to relax and need to find ways to spend time with friends being safe

  • I’ve encountered the Aveeno brand before as well and I love their products and scents. You just reminded me to check them out again next time I go to the store. Great post too about relieving stress. We all need our pamper days!

  • These are such a great tips. for a teenagers to help them manage back to school. Not only a teenagers but, also for a kids.

  • I think it’s important to see it as a fresh start rather than a stressful period of time and then everything comes naturally 😉

  • I agree with taking sufficient breaks during the day. This helps refresh their minds so that they can absorb more things to learn. Exercise rejuvenates and re-energizes the body to help reduce stress too.

  • It is important to allow your teens to relax some and not get caught up with all the stress. I know that they have so much to do now that they have a hard time to take a breather any time. I know my daughter isn’t at that level of stress yet but it does worry me that it’s coming, unfortunately.

  • I totally agree with you on this, breaks are very much required! These days teenagers are getting too much evolved in their back to back activities without taking out some time to relax and rejuvenate themselves with some fresh air. Glad I came across this article I am definitely sharing these tips with my niece. Thank you for sharing with us 🙂 Very well written.

  • I always had anxiety when I was going back to school and I wish I had this to calm my nerves. One way I deal with my anxiety when I was a teen and now is listen to music or take a long walk.

  • Nice tips. Great that you add the Aveeno lotion in here. Truly soothing and relaxing skin care product.
