30 Fun Indoor Activities

Summer is here! But with summer comes days of high temperatures. To keep the kids cool in the hot summer days we keep a list of fun things to do inside when it’s too hot to play outside!

This year I made our list into a printable so that we can hang it up and check things off as we do it. It’s also great to have in a spot so the kids can go check it themselves for some inspiration!

I also keep lots of fun warm weather snacks on hand.

Nothing that requires time to put together or a hot oven! We’ve been enjoying Goldfish® pretzels so much. The girls love to play with them as much as eat them. Did you know that they also make really good puppets? And boy do they have stories to tell!

I put out a serving for each off my girls in a reusable cupcake liner. They make the perfect carry and go container and are really easy to clean too! When they get hungry they just stop and have some Goldfish crackers on the go.

Just because it’s too hot to play outside doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! Avoid the dreaded, “I’m Bored!” with this fabulous checklist of fun indoor kid activities for those hot days.

  1. These are great ideas … summers in Atlanta mean if you are outside it needs to be in the pool or other body of water. Like these indoor alternatives!

  2. I JUST discovered those pretzel Goldfish recently and totally fell in love. I get them all the time now. GREAT list of activities, by the way.

  3. We do a lot of Legos and forts. For several months out of the year the kids are indoors because its too cold here, so sometimes you can feel like you have cabin fever. Coming up with creative indoor fun ideas is a must! But we do love to play outside any chance we get!

  4. GOLDFISH!!!! We love goldfish over here! And with our temps over 110, we do lots of indoor stuff, including screaming and fighting, to keep ourselves cool and entertained

  5. great idea ! so the child would not get bored when stayed at home . thank you for sharing

  6. Love these ideas! Especially when it’s raining outside or even too hot to leave the house!

  7. These are fun indoor activities for kids, Your girls are adorable. The Goldfish pretzels are also my kids’ favorite.

  8. These are fun ideas. My summer babe likes to read. She also likes to draw. Sometimes my kids play their board and pretend one is a teacher and one is a student.

  9. Wow fabulous list! I am for sure going to keep this handy. We tend to have many too hot days where we don’t go outside, so now we won’t be twiddling our thumbs wondering what to do!

  10. Me and my girls love snaking on this. All these activities sound fun. Playing charades and painting with water color are my kids’ favorite activities.

  11. These are awesome ideas for indoor activities for when it is to hot outside. I never thought I would hear them words by the way. I love the idea of the cardboard puppet theater is an awesome idea. I have not had the gold fish pretzels for a while so I will have to pick some up. Thanks for sharing.
