Tips To Make Christmas Family Travel Easier

After traveling over 100 days this past year, we’ve learned some tips that make holiday travel so much better.

I’ve learned that our comfort is the best indicator of how we judge our past travels, so a bunch of my tips are based on that. From the basics like staying hydrated, to being prepared for almost anything, these tips will definitely make your travels better and easier too.

Here are our Tips To Make Christmas Family Travel Easier:

Tip 1. Plan for extra time. Every step (or car ride, or flight) of the way plan for more time. Leave a bit earlier, add more time for stops along the way, and stay as long as you can before heading home. Each of these will reduce the stress and add to the fun. I’ve been known to add a day or two to our destinations just knowing I will want to see more when we are there, or spend more time with family. We’ve never regretted adding more time.

Tip 2. Don’t wrap your gifts if you are flying. Plan to buy wrapping paper and tape when you get there and do it then. TSA often will have to unwrap a present to see what it is and even open boxes.  So, make it easier for everyone, and don’t wrap them till you get there.

Tip 3. Bake when you get there. It’s hard to travel with food so bring any supplies that you can’t find in your destination and bake there.

Tip 4. Be prepared. I can’t tell you how often this has saved us. Being congested and having to get on a plane is no fun. Congestion can come from so many things, but we’ve found allergies and a change in the climate to be one of the hardest ones to deal with.  We always pack CVS Congestion Relief Non-Drowsy Coated Tablets with us in our carry-on.

Tip 5. Always pack snacks and stay hydrated. If you’ve got kids this is a must, even if you are traveling without kids in tow, bring snacks. Nothing makes travel harder than an empty stomach. When we are flying, one of the first things we do after we go through security, is to buy bottles of water. We know how important staying hydrated is so having water with us at all times is a must too.

Thankfully there are CVS stores across the country so there is always one close by.

CVS Brand products offer quality and affordability and they carry the trusted CVS Brand name. With products ranging from allergy and cold remedies to first aid essentials and personal care items, including CVS Cold/Flu Relief, Probiotic Softgels, and Children’s 100% Real Fruit Multivitamin Gummies, it’s the place to go to stay healthy this fall and winter. In many cases, CVS Brand products even exceed the FDA’s testing guidelines and regulations and offer features or benefits that other comparable products do not.
