Everyone knows that you can’t take care of those you love until you take care of yourself. I’ve known that for a long time, but last year I started to get overly tired and I didn’t want this to affect the ones I loved so I decided that being healthy needs to be a priority this year. To me that means getting more sleep, eating healthy foods, exercising and getting back to a healthier weight. I’m excited to be partnering on this post to share about Weight Watchers Beyond The Scale program.

Since Emmy was born, my main source of exercise has been chasing her around and the occasional walk/run on the treadmill.

It has not been nearly enough to maintain a healthy weight and I’m feeling it. One day I realized that Pete and Ashley work out 7+ hours a week because they make it a priority. I knew it was time that I made getting healthier a priority too. I also realized that for me, being healthy isn’t about just one thing; it’s about making better choices all around, it’s a lifestyle. The start of my new lifestyle was to get moving more. I did this with help from Ashley. She’s my new workout buddy and I love the time we’ve been spending together and it motivates me to keep going.

Weight Watchers Beyond The Scale is totally in line with how I view being healthy. It is all about a holistic lifestyle. Weight Watchers offers a holistic degree approach to healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. Beyond The Scale is not a diet, in addition to managing how you eat there’s a new fitness approach to your daily activities! With Beyond The Scale, you don’t necessarily need to visit the gym 10x a day, it’s all about making small changes (i.e… stairs vs the elevator) to create a healthier you! This is exactly what I need to make sure a program will work for me. There is no way I can dedicate hours of my week to gym time, but having motivation and instruction on little ways to add more fitness to my life is going to make all the difference!

las vegas

Last week when we were out in Las Vegas and I could already start to see how much better I feel and how much more I can take on in the day, since I’ve started to take care of myself from the inside out. I had so much more energy and it showed when I wasn’t exhausted after a day full of meetings.

Instead of coming back to the hotel room and falling asleep, I was excited for the next day and spent the evening preparing. And that’s just with some exercise. I can’t wait to see how much better I look and feel after I incorporate more healthy choices into my life.

Now that I have a plan for staying physically active, I started researching other aspects of ways to get healthier and I found Weight Watchers Beyond the Scale program to be exactly what I was looking for. When creating this program, they took the focus off of just losing weight (which is still an important goal), but they know that it’s just not the only goal.

When I was reading about this new program one of the things that jumped out at me the most was that you can eat anything… just in smaller portions. I’m in love with Acai bowls and squash tacos and I can still eat them. This program fits into my lifestyle and that is what is going to make the biggest difference with me sticking with it.

I’ve always felt that the scale is a good tool to measure weight loss progress, but there are many other measures to celebrate when you have a holistic integration of healthy food choices, relevant fitness activity and taking care of yourself from the inside out. Weight Watchers Beyond the Scale does too!

The Beyond the Scale program inspires and guides you to make healthier choices that go far beyond the scale.

I loved that their new SmartPoints™ system makes healthy eating simple. When you join Weight Watchers you will be given a personalized SmartPoints™ budget which takes into consideration your current weight, height, gender, age. It’s a daily allowance plus a weekly allowance to spend on splurges, bigger portions or going out.  It’s a simple counting system and it’s really easy to use. It nudges you towards nutritious, healthier foods so that you eat better, feel better, have energy AND lose weight.

My days are already filled to the max and what I need most is an easy system to follow. They also offer new fitness approaches that fit into our busy lifestyle. I really like that on days I’m not inspired to go to the gym I can log in and get other ideas and instruction on how to get my body moving. Again, it’s all about taking the guesswork away from being healthier and they make it easy. Another thing I’ve noticed on my “healthier me” journey is that staying positive is just as important as all the other aspects. They’ve got that covered too with tools to help you get in a positive mindset for success.

The Beyond the Scale program is best described as a personalized and customized program that fits with our lifestyle, goals and challenges to be healthier in all aspects of our life while obtaining our target weights.

I’m really excited about this year and being the healthiest me… and feeling more confident at a healthier weight with Weight Watchers Beyond The Scale.

“I love that Beyond the Scale also focuses a lot on fulfillment. Weight Watchers wants you to find and feel your inner strength. You can be happier and healthier if you’re taking care of yourself from the inside out. It’s all about staying inspired and motivated.”

I think the tools that they are offering are exactly what is needed for busy moms like myself. If we don’t take care of ourselves, we can’t take care of the important people in our lives. It’s time we make ourselves a priority.

What are you doing to take care of yourself from the inside out?
