Can you tell it’s all about the end of summer around here?

I love the end of summer! This time of year is when we start the back to school festivities and really appreciate the longer warm days and cooler nights… oh and the food! Let’s not forget that!

Everything from the fresh produce, to ice cold drinks (to cool off when it gets a bit too hot out) make late summer food and drinks the best around.

Last night I made this simple strawberry, peach & apple smoothie for Emmy and Ashley. We all went outside and enjoyed the sunset while they sipped on their smoothies!

It was the perfect ending to a great day!

simple ingredients

The ingredients are very simple and it takes less than 2 minutes to whip up! We have a a high speed blender and that makes it even easier to make this.

We used Juicy Juice® because 8 oz of Juicy Juice® 100% juice = 1 cup of fruit and with 16 flavors of Juicy Juice® 100% juice, you can make a different smoothie each and every day!

This is another one of those recipes that almost isn’t a recipe at all, because it’s so easy to make!

After adding the ingredient I just blended it up. I made it while Ashley and Pete were working out and then I put it into the freezer to keep it cool for about a half an hour until they returned. We loved the sweetness from the strawberries and Apple Juicy Juice®, the tartness from the peaches, and the yogurt added the perfect creaminess to it!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups banana or vanilla fat free yogurt (we used vanilla)
  • 1 cup Apple Juicy Juice® 100% Juice
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries partially thawed
  • 1/2 cup frozen sliced peaches partially thawed

DIRECTIONS

Place yogurt, Juicy Juice®, strawberries and peaches in blender; cover. Blend until smooth.

Servings per recipe 3

That’s it! So easy and so delicious!

I think you could use fresh fruit, but it wouldn’t have that coolness to it so I’d stick with frozen. I did let the frozen fruit thaw just a bit so that they blended easier, but still had that cold touch.
